It’s too bad,,AMF had to close this center..these jokers had this in mind,,since January 2008..AMF won’t admit it.. the manager,Mrs Kinnel did a good job, considering what she had to go thru,to get bowlers in the door..AMF is too cheap to put $$$$ back in the business. I talked to a friend of mine,Rich Majors..he Laso said, good old AMF @ its’ finest..AMF should pull out of the Rochester market..if AMF”s reading thisd,& I know they aren’t..go play out in traffic.

To all Olympic Lane bowlers——I am sorry for your loss. I hate to see Bowling alleys close. I used to bowl in NY AMF Van Wyck Lanes. AMF closed it without any warning in April 2008. They are supposed to close other alleys. AMF is hurting bowling, Merrill Wreden is a corporate jerk, do not believe a word he says. Try not to bowl in AMF alleys.

Very sad for the Cenetr, sad for the Lilac tournament, and very sad the way AMF operates. No notice to the employees, no other jobs for them, no notice for the Lilac tourn. (unless 2 weeks is considered notice) no advance notice for the leagues and bowlers to sign elsewhere. SHame on AMF.

AMF Olympic will close it’s doors on July 13th. It is the end of an era for bowling in Rochester. Good, bad or indifferant, Olympic will be sadly missed.

80-lane house with all-wood surfaces. Center is fairly run-down..most capital equipment is old and in poor condition. I’ve shown up there to find sticky soda in ball returns and gutters, scoring camera cover lying in middle of lane, and foul line inserts half removed from the approach. Gutter balls will almost always jump back onto the lane near pin deck due to misalignments. You must also pay in advance…only center in city that requires this. There are better places in town to bowl.

All I have to say is I will NEVER go back and bowl in this center. Very unprofessional they are.

I have beena dedicated bowling member of several leagues hels @ Olympic AMF. Seldomly have I had a problem with damaged to a bowling ball that I own. Unfortunately, on Sunday April 9, 2006 as I was league bowling, in the 6th frame of the first game, my ball returned extremely damaged. I immediately brought it to staff attention and was told that it would be repaired and if unrepairable it would be replaced. I am awaiting for the results. Not to be negative, however for the condition of the ball. It can not be repaired to inact the same performance as it did prior to the damage. I will respond again after the results of the damaged bowling ball.

The house should become more responsible when it comes to damaged balls! I had a Lane #1 Uranium (in great condition) return from the pit with a huge gouge in it. The owner decides that they will plug my bowling ball and return it to me. The gouge was so huge that it took part of the serial number away from the ball. This incident happened 2 weeks ago and I’m still waiting for my ball to be returned. I was told that if I don’t like the way the ball rolls after being repaired that I can send it back and they will replace it. Why not replace it from the beginning? I didn’t pay $190.00 for a ball to have patch holes drilled into it. Not to mention that this situation transpired during a tournament and instead of making me feel better they made the situation worse.
