Just had a birthday party there. They sure do get busy. But, I would like to thank them for all they have done to help me out. My kids and their friends had a blast! It was the easiest birthday party I have every had! I would also like to add that Jackie at the front desk did an outstanding job. She was very helpful. It was obviously busy but she never seemed too busy to help. But all in all, I want to thank the whole staff. It was a success and I WILL be doing a party there again!

Ive been bowling at lava for years and had the experience to know all of the workers at lava lane. For those of you that say the girls Kick butt and Lew is the only guy who works hard. The girls are two faced and will throw you under the bus at a moments notice. And how can they "Kick butt" when they sit on theres for there whole shift in the office with Lew??? riddle me this batman. And Joe did bust his a** when he was there its a shame he was fired and not even asked for his side of the story.. but oh well im sure he will find that place was a hell whole.

I was in Medford this week to visit friends. As I just started bowling again last month following a 10- or 11-year layoff, I made my first trip to Lava Lanes, partly because of the publicity it gets from hosting the Earl Anthony Medford Classic. Bowling has changed dramatically over the last ten years or so, yet most bowling facilities I've visited in the San Fran Bay Area do not reflect the ultimate in modernization that Lava Lanes shows. My oh my, Lava's a gorgeous, very well-kept facility! A very good staff the night I came (5/3/09) added to it, and the food is okay, too. Highly recommended, especially if you have a bevy of bowlers with you. I'll be back!

Wow! so many negative comments. I have been bowling here for 5 years or so. It's a fun place to hang out and in a town that shuts down at like 8:00, it's nice to have some place to hang out with your friends. They also have a pretty good arcade if you don't like bowling (although you probably wouldn't be here if you didn't). Yeah, the food kind of s*cks, but it is no worse than any other bowling alley I've been to. And most of the time, the staff rocks!

My comment is addressed to those fine upstanding patrons that have "recently" posted some, less than constructive, criticisms about Lava Lanes and it's employees. Oh, wait a minute, recent? My mistake.... there have only been 2 (two) posts this year about Lava Lanes and its staff. One was a very strong and positve post and the other was, I beleive, an uninformed yet very well understood post. In the past 18 mos. there have been an intolerable amount of, let's see, 5 (five) posts about Lava Lanes. Hmmmmm guess we (the STAFF) are not doing such a bad job after all. It appears that the "no news is good news" philosophy is applied most often than not in this particular site. With that said.... "Mike", if you have questions about equipment or would like advice on how to improve your bowling skills, feel free to ask Randy or Scott (Scott is the new Head Mechanic (Brunswick certified) who sports a 230+ avg.. I believe him to be more than qualified to assist you or anyone in finding the best "fit" for their game if Randy is not available. To Medford Bowler, I'm sure the Desk personel and its Management appreciate the kudos and your strong support. It's good to see customer satisfaction does sometimes appear in print. Unfortunately, all to often, we satisfy our customers to the highest level of service, and they leave..... happy..... without complaint... and without a reason to go online and post a comment. Why? Because..... they're satisfied. Irony..... does tend to s*ck from time to time. So let it be known, Lava, you (WE) are doing a fine job. Keep it up.

I have bowled at Lava Lanes for many years and one thing i have noticed is the girls at the front desk kick major butt!!! They make sure the work gets done and they are always there for all the customers. I can tell they go above and beyond with a smile on their face. The girls especially i want to emphasize. However, Lew is the only guy I see there busting his butt in response to the april 2008 comment.

have had friends join me on sundays to bowl and they are interested in getting better with their own equip. except for the fact that the pro shop is a fricking joke !!! they are never open which just drives away business for the house. plus the front counter doesn't seem to know anything about the pro shop either. great practice especially in this economy...good luck

hey love 2 bowl, come over to Roxy Ann Lanes! Very clean and has leagues!! we used to bowl at lava and left for the same reasons!!! Roxy is older but very clean and fun place to bowl at!

The management are less than professional!!! I have never seen a establishment run so poorly! The Lanes are great but with the lack of a staff that knows what is goin on makes it a frustraition too bowl league! The owners would rather spend there money on Gutterballs than the mechanics of the bowling alley! If there was another house that had leagues I would drop this place and never go back!!!!!!!!

I have bowled at lava sense its open. I love this place its my second home. The girls at the front desk are lazy and do nothing. But the guy named joe is great he greets you like he's known you for years. Keep up the good work. You should get a raise every time I'm there ( which is alot) you are busting your hump to make every one happy. I do have to agree that the food is a little pricey but the service is getting much better with the help of buddy good job hope the arm heals up

Are there any positive comments for Lava Lanes in Medford? Or is this a conspiracy of customers from RoxyAnn? I wonder if all these people realize what effect word of mouth has on a business. I certainly hope this information is actually sent to the establishment as constructive criticism in order to make improvements. And if so do you think all those negative folks will re-write? Lava Lanes of Bend Oregon cosmic bowling is out of control. There are to many people getting away with way to much stuff. Like bowling when the lanes are off and getting house balls stuck in the back of the lanes. And people drinking and yelling and screaming and breaking glasses and hurting people ears. I think Jon Powell should not run cosmic because he does not do anything i think that Bend lava lanes should have security officer. Also sometime it is a waist of money so lets try to make lava lanes in Bend have a fun cosmic night. Thank You Jeffery

It's a beautiful center. Too bad that customer service is such a low priority. And that lounge! What's up with that!? Sure, it's nice to look at. However, the service ALWAYS s*cks. The food is average at best, and the clientel (the horse players) look, smell and act like they just beamed up from the Rescue Mission. Avoid the restroom at all costs (usually a toxic waste dump in desperate need of a thorough cleaning). A lot of us wish that this place would eventually fulfill its massive potential. At this point, they seem content to operate a very pretty center with total indifference to the needs and wants of their customers.

We Love Lava Lanes but the service in the bar and snack bar needs lots of help! The service is very slow (took half an hour for a burger and fries then the fries were cold) trying to get a waitress to take your order is next to impossible. We have even told them that we are in a bowling league and are in a hurry but that doesn't even seem to phase them. But if you want a strong drink and many of them this is the right bar, I have seen many people stumbling out the door because of being served WAY too much! We have also seen the bathroom covered in puke more than once (actually 4 times in a few weeks) I informed an employee of the mess and they "wow already it's only noon". The snack bar employees need a serious lesson on cleanliness, many times their clothes are dirty (and not from work) the counters are filthy with old food and it doesn't seem to phase them. We have decided to eat else where before league from now on... The owners must really s*ck up to the PBA, because if they saw how it was run on a normal nite they would not come back..... on a good note the front counter girls are GREAT! They are happy and fun to talk to...

In response to the employee. Are you not in the customer service industry? Does the word Customer service have any meaning to you? Obviously not, taking crap from people who think they know everything as you put it is technically part of your job! I'm not saying you have to bow down to the customer but by God at least treat them with respect and courtesy. Sad to say but until things change we won't be back we are very happy across down....... where people matter. The way it should be.

As an employee of Lava Lanes, I have to disagree with the other comments. Most people don't understand what we have to deal with. All day we get nothing but cr@p from people that think they know everything. For those of you that were here for the high school state tournament, in case you didn't notice, the snack bar service is the same at ANY big tournament like that all over the state. I have not been to a hs tournament that didn't have an hour wait at the snack bar. It's not just hs tournaments that are that bad. My parents and I bowl in other tournaments throughout the state and its the same everywhere. I know some of our staff isn't always as friendly as they could be, but you will also see that at almost any business you go to. When my mom and I went to Hooters to buy a shirt for my dad, the waitresses looked right at us and didn't even acknowledge us...probably because we don't have enough testosterone. I am not condoning anything that you have experienced, I am just trying to help you understand and not single us out.

Sorry to say but your center has gone downhill since you hired that grouchy cartoon character. Your staff is unfriendly,rude and they often could care less if a customer was there. I've gotten sick the last 2 times I ate food from the snack bar. My fault I guess when you watch a guy rub his face and pants then touch your food it's best to not eat it.

We were down at your lanes for the state playoffs. We got in line right at the lunch break and waited 45 minutes to get our food. We got it just as they started bowling again. The girls were dashing up to get a bite when they could. The hamburgers were less than half eaten when your staff threw them out. Your service was very poor and did not improve the next day, but we got to eat since they did not have to bowl any more. One man in line had asked for no onions and they put onions in anyway. So the guy doing hamburgers told him he would just have to wait, after already waiting for 45 minutes. I think when you know that you will have large crowds you should prepare for them.

I think the staff in the bar should not add more money to your debit card bill. When you check your account and the amount is different from your receipt you signed for at the bar, don't you think we know you padded the tip amount. Thats bullsh*t!!

Prices are too high and there isn't enough lighting inside to see your mark on the lanes. Not fun getting eyestrain trying to see.
