I dont know how many of you have bowled at sonora family bowl in the last 6 months but the place has greatly changed, not so say there isnt still work to be done but when it comes to lane conditions the shot is not to hard and not to easy it really makes you concentrate and remember the basics. i recommand giving the bowl another chance you may see that its not the same place it use to be. THANKS

This is a great place to bowl, I don't know what people are talking about, maybe they need to learn how to bowl.

Just remembering the good old days with the gang ,when we won League Championship.Of coarse having the owners of the joint as your bowling partners gave us the edge.Virgil, you were one heck of a bowler.See this message ,drop me a line.

It is time that we step back and look at ourselves; What do you say to a person not here if asked if someone is there? It is usually a striking or clearly a different look that is at the establishment. So dress type/colors if a dress is worn. Or most of us use race type to identify someone that is of the type asked for by the requestors voice and/or could it be tall or short. It is a fair question; how ever it is asked- remember the phone person asked without any data other than a girl.

What was she suppose to ask? Get over the race card crap. I know from bowling there for years nothing was meant by it. You need to look at how you address people. White, black, colored, yellow, green. We are all colors.

On January 2, 2007, at or about 10:30 p.m. I called to inquire when the Family Bowling was opened. I asked, because I sent my 14-year old daughter and two friends, whom I had not heard from. The lady who answered the phone asked if my daughter was with the "colored" girl? Are you promoting family bowling or prejudice?

Food service is non existant. Restrooms need to be cleaned more often. Lane courteousy is not exersized by patrons or enforced by management. Prices are good. This house will and does close before the hours posted on front door, sometimes will close 2 hours early. You never know when they will close because they don't go by what is posted on front door and it's all accoding to what they feel like doing that night.

Only 16 lanes, computer system turns off at 9th frame, no ball washer just polisher, lots of filth on my ball at end of game, scoring system is ancient, hours of operation the best I have ever seen (2am in the morning on fri & sat), no hot food at 3pm don't know when but seems to be only hot dogs and chips and cheese, does not allow outside food or drink. They need a competitor to get their service in better shape.

This Bowling house is very nice, The shot was good to me, I sure would like to know who owns this house. I'm hoping he might want to sell it.

We were at Blackoak casino for the day, we bowled six games, my son and I, the lanes were dressed early that morning, we did bowl good, we had games of 275, 250 and so forth. We stopped on our way back in Sonora and found the bowling alley, so we tried the lanes, it was about 2:00 pm so we didn't know how many people have bowled on them, we found the shot good, it was a little tight, you could not miss too much, for the right side, the left side it seemed to have little more room. We did bowl games of 275, 250, and lower. Not a bad place, but I think they should open up the shot, if that's the way it is in league. But overall it was a nice place.

I had a day to waste in Sonora, so I brought my bowling balls. The alleys were freshly prepared in a medium oil to dry pattern. I won a free game. And the equipment worked perfectly. Thank you. P.S. The people could not have done any more to serve me. I enjoyed myself and walked out with new information on how to bowl better after talking to the pro.

You people are just being a little hard on this place. All it really needs is a new Manager. Oh, maybe a new owner might help. Maybe someone who knows about bowling. Or maybe....naw, On second thought maybe you're right.

This house isn't too bad as far as clean and bright goes. The food selection is sad, can you believe they run out of hot dog buns and cups? The lanes however are relatively new, but the folks haven't a clue how to prep them. The oil and/or oiler is a mystery to them. Not a good place to practice, league or tournament. Very sad.

Very poor place to bowl. Avoid. Some leagues are very poorly administered, lane conditions suck. Half the employees are drunk on the job.

Speaking of railroad tracks. Maybe they should convert Sonora Family Bowl to a railroad station 'cause it isn't working as a bowling alley.

Comment Date: 4/26/2004 Name: Anonymous
Railroad Track??? You couldn't get to that track even if you tried, the heads are so dry. But then you probably wouldn't understand that.

Comment Date: 3/27/2004 Name: Anonymous
For those who bitch about the lane conditions, well enjoy the 1950's conditions and learn how to bowl.. what do you want.. a railroad track to the pins?

For most of a year, this house has struggled with the lane machine. They had it working for a week when an expert came in, but then managed to foul it up again. Nice folks, fun atmosphere, horrid conditions.

Comment Date: 1/27/2004 Name: Anonymous
This house doesn't seem to care about their league bowlers. They refuse to address lane conditions when obvious problems are pointed out. More often than not you can't get a straight answer as to what's going on regarding issues.
