|Myself and several friends have been going to Shoetime for years and I have to say that it was more fun before they had theyre financial problems.
We went there a couple weeks ago and were very disapointed.
We accually knoe the GAME of bowling and uaually arrive around 7:30 or 8:00 pm and they already had the lights out.
We like to use our marks on the boards and with the lights out , you were basically throwing BLIND!Judging by the patrons,Leave lane lights on. It makes it more fun if you can have a good game.
Love the music, but not the blackout!
We are now going to pursue CAVEMAN BOWL, unless things change at SHOWTIME>|

|yes they are still open. they had some trubles, but are back all aspects of business. we have had our company christmas party there several times. and service is great, and reasonable rates to have the whole place to ourselves.|

|Last time I tried to take my kids there the place said it was open - per times and days - but it wasn't and no answer - place looks vacant and deserted - are they still on business?|

|I have repeatedly been dissapointed by Showtime.
The older lady at the main desk was incredibly rude,
kept me waiting at her desk for ten minutes while
she went on with another coworker about some
tv show and when I said excuse me she looked
at me and went right on talking. When I was a kid
I used to go there a lot, and I went back for
the first time when I moved back and that was
my new memorie. Not cool at all. And it's not
very "family" oriented any more. When we went
it was all older people and the one family I did see
was getting just as poor of service as I was. Because
thier daughter wasn't physically impaired she
wasn't allowed to use the bumpers. She was four!!! They left early and just as upset as I was. Now we go to Caveman and I am treated well everytime. |

|I haven't heard much about Showtime lanes are they still open? They do need a website if they are still open that reflects them and what is offered and the rates. Caveman has a nice site. Are they still in Businesses?|

|These lanes are well kept, one of the most well operating alley's in So Oregon. The mechanic is excellent & has taught other's.
The bathroom's are spotless, & the kitchen is also. The food is good & graciously served to you. There is a diningroom attached to the back of the kitchen area that is very pleasant & well kept, also.
The cost is normally lower than most of the lanes in the area. Congenial desk person's, & very helpful to all.
I have gone to both bowling alley's in the area & this one is far more well lit & kept. & the mechanics of the lanes are kept up much better so that they do not "go down" (break down) often at all.
Tuesday nites there is instruction league, where the owner, Dean, & Tim, the mechanic (both excellent bowlers) instruct the members that come in what they may be doing wrong. It is very helpful. This costs $8.00 from 7 to 10 p.m . You can stay & bowl the whole time or leave when you wish. Then during the year, for open bowling, you get a lower rate charge. Which is great. |

|For Heaven's sake...some of the supposed to be honest critique's are outlandish. Childish & vicious, & I cannot fathom for what reason!
I have been going to Showtime for years, & I also was at Caveman for year's. It is not a matter of comparison's that are anyone else's business, as to why we (my husband & I) prefer Showtime. It is our private choice, & very well thought over.
Just, please, be fair in your criticism. Dean (the owner of Showtime) tries hard to keep the outside clean, & if slobs mess it up & he has not gotten to it fast enough, then stow it! The perimeter is kept as clean as any other around, & they that say it is always a garbage dump are not telling the truth. Plain & simple. The inside is clean & neat & the lane's are kept in prime condition. The lavatorie's are exceptionally clean. The food has improved over the year's & as we eat there on & off, I can say it is well done & tasty & clean. As to being CLEAN, just check the Health Dept. Restaurant ratings, & you will see that reflected there.
So please, just be honest in your assessment's of businesses when you do critique. Thanks...

|Good golly, what a lot of trash talk over comparing a couple of alleys. Some of the posters seem to have written notes after dropping a bowling ball on their toes. Both Caveman and Showtime try hard to do well in a small market. if some commentors worked as hard at improving their bowling or their spelling as they did slamming their local business operators, things would improve for all.|

|Well..The other poster that has this name also (it seems) says some of what I would also. However, it would be nice to have the lanes open earlier during the summer, though it would cost. It would bring in revenue, which is what most businesses desire, & some revenue is better than none, in slow season. Put out tickets for reduced rates for families bowling during the summer, or on summer leagues. Etc. Promo this lane.
Keeping refreshment counter open more would help, & I hear many comments during weekends about the bar being closed. People do not like that. I do not drink so I don't care, however I note that other lanes have it open during business hours. That & refreshment counter. These are the gripes of the ones that go to Caveman, as they like to be able to grab a munchie & soda or beer or whatever when there bowling on weekends. Eve's too.
So it goes. Every place has some improvements they could make. No one has something perfect. Not that I have met up with. Showtime has the cleanest lanes in town & definitely the best mechanics around! No two ways about that. Tim & Cindy are the best & have the lanes working like clockwork. Many Kudo's to them. Nice to bowl where the lane's are not breaking down alot.

|My son bowled in a high school tournament at Showtime. It is true what the other person said about the trash in the parking lot. There was a large pile of debris in the side parking lot. It was so big that you could see it as you drove by on the freeway! Other than that it seemed like a pretty good place.|

|You cannot event compare Caveman to Showtime Family Lanes. To insult them by saying the lanes are trashed is just a bald face lie. Even the whos who of bowling bowls better there. Look at the scoring records from the city tournament. The machines run like clock work. The fresh pizza is great. The staff is always upbeat and friendly. The parking and entries are clean, and the rest rooms are always clean and neat. To allow people to say the terrible things being said about Showtime on this website is a crime. Check out these people before going public. Or at least make everyone use there name and e-mail address before publishing there comments. Including myself. Caveman and Showtime are two of the few centers in Oregon that work together. As an officer in the association I have seen Keving and Dean working for the best of bowling in Grants Pass many times. They just don't need this type of garbage.|

This bowling facility has 32 wonderful wood lanes. The Chief Mechanic and his Staff are the BEST in the region. Nearly all bowling centers in the area have utilized their expertize at one time or another, and realability is the BEST in the State. It's been years since a machine breakdown has caused delays. The consistency of the SHOT from day to day of ALL ages, is well known through out the community at Showtime Family Lanes.
Anyone who's a "who's who" including this youngster has bowled very well there. They have a parking lot cleaning service on staff. They try the hardest to be friendly and helpful. 85% of the Staff at Showtime Family Lanes averages 190 or better.
Caveman Bowl is owned by a Regional PBA Champion, and the Pro-Shop is owned by a PBA Tour Champion. They are in a CLASS of their own.
Two 800's were bowled this season at Showtime Family Lanes, and they were bowlers of BOTH houses, in our city.
In conclusion, when you are under 16 years of age, your experiences are very limited. But, a comment was needed, on this Worldwide Site, in order to tell those individuals across the WORLD, come in an visit them at Showtime Family Lanes. Have a few hours of fun out of your busy lives. |

|Being an average bowler and affiliated with a church in Grants Pass, I cannot believe the comments some make about Showtime Family Lanes. Its is the only true smoke free center, and they do there best to allow times that alcohol is not served on the lanes. Even during league play they do all they can do to curb foul language. As far as the scoring it is one of the best in all of Oregon for the average bowler. Last year over 22 games of 300 were shot and very few by the who's who of bowling. Yes Kelly Delisle did shoot the first 800 this year and it was at Showtime. The highest series ever rolled in city tournament was by Pat Graham (834) and he did it at Showtime. There has been two seniors shoot 300 just this season and they both average below 190. There are seniors rolling 210 and above averages with 30 year old equipment. I cannot find the piles of garbage in the parking lot they speak of and I am there three times a week. The machines work the way they are suppose to and I have never had to move because of breakdowns however I have 3 times at caveman just this season. Showtime will be my place of choice next season.
Our church always picks Showtime for our youth as well as adult functions. The staff is friendly and very helpful. It is neat and clean and very well cared for. It is truely a family center bright and well lighted both inside and out. The parking and entry to Showtime is much better and easier even for the handicaped. The prices are very comparible and league bowling is less than any center in southern Oregon.
As an average bowler my vote is for Showtime Family Lanes. All that they do for the youth, churches, and schools in Josephine County is a credit to their name. I would agree with the comment made by another, go to Showtime and check it out for yourself.|

|I was just at Showtime Family Lanes and there wasn't any trash in the parking lot. I talked to the manager and she said that sometimes at night people will throw all of their trash out of their cars on the ground instead of walking 15 feet to put in in the trash can. We had a really good time and some really good pizza too! The restrooms were very clean. I highly recommend Showtime Family Lanes to anyone.|

|Are you kidding? There are large piles of trash laying in the parking lot at all times. The place needed a remodel twenty years ago that it's still waiting for. The lane beds are trashed from lack of maintenance. The staff is surly and dispirited. "Best place in town"?!
I took a look at their high average board. Not one guy who ever makes a dime in tournaments. Across town at Caveman, the high average board is the "who's who" of top Southern Oregon bowlers.
Showtime Family Lanes is the worst dump in Southern Oregon. A working example of why bowling has declined in popularity over the last several years. I cannot find one positive thing to say about this place (except that it always looks like the end is near).
Don't take my word for it. Check out Showtime and then go try Caveman. There is no comparison.|

|I really like this bowling alley...just wish you could get a beer and some food Sunday afternoons while bowling...and they don't allow you to bring in a soft drink or burger either...they lose lots of $$ by not opening the food place and bar...|
