This place has always s*cked when it comes to sport shot. My ball got damaged and no one would fix it. I hate this house. It was way too crowded and the lanes s*ck. I was expecting a much better layed out sport shot. But noooo, We got this {deleted} pattern that was not put out correctly.

Lots of criticism lately from bowlers that owner seems to be ignoring. Bowling industry overall is down, but several people seem to be very unhappy lately about Fox Bowl. Things like: Leagues at night that don't get fresh oil. Management allowing bowlers from different teams (men's leagues) trash talking to the point of being offensive, not merely joking chatter. Several long time league bowlers at Fox Bowl have gone or are deciding now to go elsewhere in the Fall. Pro Shop hours are not reliable. Most of the time, you need to go to the front desk to get help at the pro shop. Place is definitely not run as well as it was even a few years ago: owner has seemed to set things on "cruise control." Get the impression that if he could, he would sell the place and retire somewhere. Daytime desk person (woman) and General Manager seem to care more about the place than the owner. Inconsistency in youth programs showing up lately, coaches for youth leagues not feeling appreciated at times. Woman owner pushes to promote youth bowling. She pushes for many travel teams and wide youth participation. But male owner doesn't seem to care less about the kids. Summer evening leagues for Junior Bowlers not being promoted adequately; it seems that nobody knows about the Summer Youth Leagues being offered. Summer youth leagues start in June at Fox Bowl, but other centers within 25 miles have started leagues as early as May 3rd, and have attained reasonable number of bowlers in those leagues: Fox is loosing out on an opportunity, and management/male owner seems to care less or is at the least totally unaware. Sad but the best thing lately at Fox Bowl is the food (really good to excellent) at the restaurant. People wouldn't mind paying Fox Bowl's exorbitant prices if they felt value for what they are getting, but now the general feeling of the place is "give them as little as possible."

Expanding on previous comments. Stella's opens on Saturday mornings for breakfast, again really good food. Stella's will deliver food to the outside. Does a pretty good Pizza delivery business. Fox Bowl knows how to put out a good true sport shot for sport leagues. Generally, it is true to specification. They have reportedly modified the house shot this year to make it slightly more challenging. We will see. The (now) house owned pro shop has really improved since the addition of new management and several new additional people that know how to drill balls. Several top notch youth bowlers have switched to Fox Bowl for Saturday morning youth house leagues.

This house has a very strong youth bowling program. Solid coaching (both volunteer and paid) that most places would die for. Supports more youth travels teams in two Jr. travel leagues than two or three other houses combined. Has a long history of outstanding food service. Local business employees often come here to eat lunch at Stella's; it's that good.
