Stopped in to practice during the Sunday morning special for a recent event. Lanes were freshly oiled and in good shape, and Smyrna was clean and run well as it usually is. Major kudos for the ownership and how this center is run. However, I was taken aback by the employee Suncay morning who seemed upset to be giving us a lane because a large number of lanes were reserved for a tournament and they needed the other lanes for "regulars". I didn't know you needed to bowl somewhere frequently to be considered a valuable customer.

Perhaps things have changed since some of the nasty comments below, but I couldn't be much happier with SBC. The lanes are well maintained, the shoes are still in their useable lifespans, the staff has always been cool to me.. I don't know these people without personality (or if they still work there) but I know that 3rd shift are cool people and I know that I would rather spend my money in Smyrna than go to Murfreesboro.

I have bowled at Smyrna for Pepsi Youth, Tenn. Top 5, and I believe state, epic lanes, and I know this is a little late, but look at this: Comment Date: 7/25/2008 Name: Unknown Smyrna Is a joke!!! Your lanes are illegal and your staff is rude. All the high games you guys have are great if it was a shot that was not so easy those bowlers can't go to another house and shoot that high. I hope you get shut down by ABC!!! FYI, ABC doesn't exist anymore, it's called USBC gramps.

Best bowling center in middle tn. You won't find one that is cleaner or where you are treated better. Have never had a problem of any kind with any of the employees there.

My son started bowling at the Smyrna Bowling Center in June of 2008. Since that time he has been in every Saturday morning Junior/Senior League. The staff at the SBC really cares about our kids. They offer free lessons before and after the league to promote this wonderful sport and try to teach the kids the proper way to bowl. This experience has been so positive for me and my son. The staff (Kelly, Candy, Josh, Travis, Sue B, Mark, Donna, Samantha, and many more) are fantastic. The Bowlers Advantage Pro Shop staff (Michelle, Donny and Chris)are very informative and works with your child to purchase what is best for them not what costs the most. I look forward to every Saturday morning because of the warm, friendly atmosphere we experience at the SBC.

My family and I have been bowling on leagues at Smyrna Lanes for 3 years now. Prior to bowling at Smyrna, we lived in another state and bowled at the same house/league for 18 years, never had any issues and was treated like a valued customer who was appreciated! However, my experience with Smyrna lanes, has been rocky at best. The female manager, whom I was told is somehow related to the owners by marriage, is one of the rudest people I have ever come in contact with. I have had three encounters with her, all which were un-pleasurable to say the least. Besides her lack of personality, her customer service and people skills are awful. As a consumer/customer, I donít expect special treatment, however I do expect people to treat me as I would treat them. I would be ashamed of myself if I treated someone, anyone, with such disregard, lack of respect and compassion. We dealt with the pro shop, again, this past week. Again, NO personality, and such disregard for their customers. WOW is all I can say. We kept going back, hoping things will improve, since it is one of the nicest houses in the area, however this incident was the straw that broke the camelís back. This will be our last bowling season with Smyrna. We have decided to pack up and choose another house who hopefully appreciates us as loyal, PAYING customers. On a positive note, Harry, one of the owners, and the gals in concessions are incredibly kind and just plain fantastic! I know I am not alone in how I feel. Speaking to other bowlers, they have had similar experiences and we will not be alone in our move to a new house. A suggestion to the OWNERS, reevaluate your management staff and perhaps provide some much needed training in customer service. Also, make it a more inviting, family type atmosphere. Know your staff as well as your customers!

I love coming to the Smyrna Bowling Center. The 3rd shift crew is great. I come at least once a week and have always found them to be hard working and trying to make sure you have a good time. It is the cleanest bowling center i have ever been to and i will keep coming back. Thanks Mark and all the 3rd shift crew !!!

I bowl at the Smyrna Lanes at least once a week and the 3rd shift crew is great. Mark, Boomer and the ladies have always made the experience a good one and really care about their customers. It's great to have a 24 hour lanes to come to in Smyrna.

Anytime I go to the Smyrna Bowling Center - day or night - the staff has been wonderful! I'm really sorry that anyone has experienced anything different, but they've always been GREAT there. We've had birthday parties, meetings, and even Girl Scout events ... all with wonderful results. I love the Smyrna Bowling Center!!!

There are 2 fat guys that work on the night shift. They are rude and have no customer service abilities. My friends and I usually go late nights on Tues and Thursdays and we are always greeted w/ the same feeling of them not wanting us to be there. The old ladies are nice, guess the dudes are mad because they have to clean up the bathrooms. My point is, Treat your customers right, especially the ones you see all the time. If this bowling alley didn't open 24/7 I would never step foot in there. Also, they never say anything to people who act up in there i.e. walking down the lane, throwing the ball in the wrong lane, etc. Come on now, don't lose a great cutomer!!

My husband and 2 children along with 4 of their guests went to the Smyrna Bowling center on Jan. 1, 2009 (New Year' Day). This was the 2nd chance. We had a very bad experience for my daughter's 18th b-day party which we had 12 guests in October 2008. When I planned the party 30 days prior, I was told to call back a few days in advance of the party date. I did. Made the arrangements and was told no deposit was needed. The day of the party, I picked everyone up from school and gave a quick "we are on our way" call and approximate arrival time. I was told there was NO party scheduled. I said, I would be arriving and expected the party. We arrived, I paid, the 18 yr. old did not care about balloons, tablecloths, etc. We did ask for the bowling pin for her friends to sign, the one free game coupons that each quest was supposed to get and the food that was ordered and paid for. We finished the "party" and left. I didn't mention earlier how very rude and unhelpful the desk attendants were. On Jan. 1 AM I called the center to ask specifically if there were any coupon exclusions, being as it was New Year's Day. I was told no, the coupons could be used and they were opend 24/7. We drove 58 miles one way, we arrived and on the counter, taped down, was a note stating that NO coupons could be used this day!! Needless to say I was very angry, aggrevated. Since we drove all that way, my husband and I payed for one game for each of the kids. I told them we would not be back. This business has very poor, I mean NO business ethics. I truly do not know how they stay in business. I guess thru peoples ignorance of not knowing...

The Managers (Harry & Candy) have gone completely out of their way to treat my coworkers and I with the utmost respect. For the past three years I have sprung on them a league that I wanted to start within a couple of weeks and they have done everything to accomodate me. Also, this league doesn't really make them much money considering our league has about 10 teams and they could put a larger league on the lanes they give us on peak nights. Any issue i have ever had has been corrected in just minutes or less depending on how busy it was at the time. Last, as long as the management that is around now stays around I will continue to bring what little business i have to them. Thanks for all you guys & gals do.

Ive been bowling here for years, since back when i bowled in the High school state tourny here. I love this place. ive never once had a problem. One time my spare ball came back in the ball return with a 1 inch crack through the entire ball. They replaced it for free within 1 day! Great place!

My son has bowled on a league ther for about three years and we practice and just play ther often. I have always found the staff to be extra nice and willing to assist with anything and everything, even before he started on the bowling league. The place is always clean and the couple of times I have had glitches with equipment they have immediatelyfixed or moved us to a different lane. I have only visited about 6 other bowling alleys in my life, but this has been the best one for us.

Just joined a league in January of this year. Has been several years since I have even been in the Smyrna Center. Was pleasantly suprised with the facilities, everything looks good, pleasant staff and clean. Have been bowling now for around 6 weeks and have not had any problems. Lady at the desk, Candy, is ALWAYS there it seems and is ALWAYS friendly and helpful when you need it. Hight recommend this facility. Much better than the boro to me and worth the drive. Thanks.

Fairlay we just had an inspection in Nov and passed everything. We oil our lanes everyday in the morning but when you do the business that we do with all the leagues it does get alittle dry out there at times.

Comment Date: 1/6/2008 Name: fairplay
it would be nice to bowl in a center that would run a legal shot the outside boards are like bumpers they are soo dry all 300's bowled should not be honored untill USBC does a surprise lane inspection

My whole family of 13, Grandma and Grandpa, 6 adults, two young adults, two teens and a child, visited Smyrna Bowling Center on December 29. I called the center prior to our arrival due to my fears about negative comments on this site and was quickly reassured. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two very helpful employees, Kelly and Ray. They assisted us in every possible way and even checked in on us at our lanes to be sure we didn't need anything. We all had a great time and have decided to make it an annual tradition. I would highly recommend Smyrna Bowling Center to anyone looking for a place to go bowling.

Hello, Today's date is Saturday,December 08,07. My family and I visited your establishment this evening. My wife and myself played four game's each.Purchaced $40.00 on food purchase's (not on alcholic beverage's). I reserved a lane in advace on friday, for us and guest's. Bought a new bowling ball for $79.95 plus tax. My guest's arrived late, they paid for themselve's a child and one more adult. They where told there (3) three year old was free. In the middle of there second game the lane was shut down. They where told to start the lane back up they would have to pay an additional ($7.00) seven dollors for the three year old child. My friend was confused about the extra charge, paid and then we sat down and talked, realizeing that they where chargeing for a three year old child that was told earlier was free. My friend went to talk to the attendent/cashier, he was rudely ignored, the attendent not busy with any other customer's at the desk or on the phone acted like we where not there. My friend stepped to the side of the counter to get his attention, was then reconized and was told to get behind the desk or the police would be called. My friend stated his case and ended with (please call the cops). Not once raising his voice or making a scene to disturb other customer's. We went back to our game, police arrived, the officer was told story and my friend agreed to not step behind counter. The attendent rudely stated that my friend had to leave anyway. But the rest of us could stay. So I spoke up and told the attendent that it was fine, my family and friend's would also leave, never grace the door's of smyrna bowling center agian. This was the second chance my family has given this establishment and attendent's are rude and power pusher's(bullies). A little bit on the last time we where in the bowling center was for my child's birthday party and the attendent's ruined that as well. Once agian, my family and I will not be setting foot in your astablishment agian. My hope is that this will reach the owner and according to your web site here, this has happend before. Action from management hopefully will be taken. For we where out for a family outing and was confronted by rude people and officer's of the law when we did nothing wrong but to confront a rude power hungry bully.

in response to someone saying that murfreesboro employees are helpful. you must not bowl there often. Very rarely are they at the counter. They are out wondering around with their boyfriends in the down stairs office. I have bowled so many leagues in that building and have seen it all. The owner does not care so the employees do not care. i have recently been bowling in Smryna and have been very impressed with their staff and how their buisness is ran. If Murfreesboro is so much better than Smryna why is all of their leagues now in Smryna. Except for 4 keagues that stayed. Think about it {deleted}

I love Smyrna Bowling Center! Our school attends the center every year and we are always pleased with the service and respect we get. Kelly has been amazing to help us feel comfortable, and make good use of our time there. The kids love visiting the Smyrna Bowling Center and look forward to it every year. We come from Murfreesboro, but choose Smyrna because of their flexibility with our group. Thanks so much!

State Bowling: The TSSAA state bowling tournament will again be held at the Smyrna Bowling Center Jan. 25-27. Besides team champions, individual champs will be honored for the first time. Finals are at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27.

it is $4.00 a game plus $2.50 shoe rental. so if you had 4 people bowling 2 games then it should have came out as a total of $42.00 so basically if you paid $15.00 and then again $15.00 you saved $12.00...you best best is next time to come in and ask for the 3 hour specail which is $10.00 a person with 3 people min. I am sorry you had problems there but hopefully you will come back and bowl again!!

Comment Date: 1/7/2007 Name: Family Bowler
The manager of this bowling center is not people oriented and quite rude. My family and I on 1/7/07 were in the middle of bowling 2 games and the lane abruptly shut down on the 5th frame of the second game. I asked the woman behind the counter for some help. Instead of apologizing for cutting us off in the middle of the game, she said that we were cut off because we had only paid for that amount of games. I explained that we had asked for two games each. It was apparent at this time that the attendant made an error and only charged us for 3 instead of 4 players to bowl 2 games. Not a big deal, everyone makes mistakes. But the woman repeated without apology and without looking into the matter that we had only paid for the amount of frames we were allotted and it would cost us $15 to finish the last 5 frames of the game. After thinking this through, I realized that we had just paid $15 for 1.5 games, and now we were asked to pay another $15 for .5 games. It didnít add up, so I told her that doesnít make sense and she proceeded to explain why she was right and I was wrong. After repeating my case that this doesnít make sense, I had her put it on paper as to why we would be changed so much to finish the second game. When she put it on paper, she realized she was going to charge us the wrong amount, but still no apology. By this time I was frustrated and asked for the manager. She was the manager. We walked out not wanting to bowl in this alley again.

The employees there are very rude. They may have a nice center but to run a center you must have great employees. Murfreesboro lanes may not have the best running lanes but at least the employees are very helpfull and nice. I will never step foot back in Smyrna lanes and neither will all of my friends.
