I just bowled at Dix-E-Town Lanes for the first time in probably 10yrs and I would rate them a 8 out of 10. The Lanes, Scoring/Monitor System, and Service are all Average-to-Above Average and I can't comment on the Snack Bar yet as I only purchased a fountain-drink, but can add they only have one drink-size. The 2 areas where Dix-E-Town Lanes falls very short is with house-shoes and house-balls. Granted, house-shoes & house-balls are never expected to be all that great, but Dix-E-Town falls VERY SHORT in both areas, and it's in these 2 areas that greatly affects one's overall experience. As for their Shoes, they're in horrible shape and my feet were hurting me before my first game ended. Compared to Fort Knox's Kelly Bowling Center, I've bowled there 4 times and my feet have never hurt during, or after, I've bowled. As for Dix-E-Town Lanes house-balls, an Adult-Male with average-size hands (like me) is forced to use a 15lb-ball. Compared to Fort Knox's Kelly Bowling Center, each weight-range (10lb thru 16lb) of house-balls have varying finger-hole setups to fit just about anyone. At Fort Knox I can use a 13lb ball, at E-town I "HAVE TO" use a 15lb ball. At least for me, this makes a huge difference in the overall experience. It would be very easy for Dix-E-Town Lanes to improve upon both of these areas and in doing so, they could not only improve one's experience but they could also adjust their pricing to at least match the cost of bowling at Fort Knox. Comparing Dix-E-Town Lanes vs. Fort Knox's Kelly Bowling Center, to bowl 3-games, I spend $11 at Fort Knox and $10 at E-town. My rating at Fort Knox's Kelly Bowling Center would be a 9 out of 10.

WOW !!!!! is all I can say. I bowled at E-Town and Knox on leagues last year. The end of last season Dean the owner of E-Town Lanes told all the bowlers that he was going to remodel this summer. WOW I stoped by the other day and I couldn,t believe what I saw. He's put in NEW scorers all new lane surface, NEW full serve restaraunt were the game room used to be, New party rooms, bath rooms heck the place is not the same. He was there and he told me that he was putting in some really cool graphics all around the place. He said that it will be done before the leagues start like the end of August. You stop by and see for yourself you will say WOW to. Plus he told me to checkout the new website and I did and it's really cool. www.dixetownlanes.com

I bowl at several lanes in this area, yes etown is olde but you get better service there and I prefer to open bowl in Etown than at Knox because they have more oil on lanes than Knox do on league nights. The place is even cleaner and they have less lane problems

Actually it is cheaper on Ft. Knox. I have bowled at both place and it doesn't matter if it's old or not. It's a hassle to get on post these days.

I agree with both LongTimeBowler & E-Town Resident. If you want the fancy smancy bowling alley, go pay triple for it @ Ft. Knox/BG. I SUPPORT Hardin CO. Small Businesses like this one. Is it old? YES but that is what makes it great! Want new? Take the drive 2 another bowling alley, spend the extra money 2 pay 2 bowl plus with gas $3.69/gallon...go for it! Some people just need something 2 complain about...THANK U DIXIE-TOWN BOWLING LANES for being family oriented, SUPER clean & resonably priced! We love it!

E-Town bowling lanes is a great place to go. Yes, it's old looking on the outside that's because it is old! However, the inside is nice and clean. The prices are below what other bowling alleys charge and the family that owns it is very nice. I do know that this is a family owned business therefore, they don't have the money to put in six figures to remodel. If they did do that, the cost of bowing would go way up! Have you ever been bowling in a Lucky Strike? Try $10 for one game and shoes. The community couldn't afford that. The Taylor family wants to provide bowling fun at an affordable price. Besides, bowling is about bowling. Not about having a couch to sit on. And I agree with long time bowler, the snack bar always get's 100's or close to on the inspection. So appreciate this great ma and pa business and go have some fun!

I have been bowling now for over 40 years and have seen MANY bowling centers across the old USA. E-Town Lanes would rank way above avg. It's very clean from top to bottom, The snack bar is what it is a snack bar. I read the restaurant rating's in the local paper from time to time and have seen the rateing at it's always in the upper 90's. The lanes always work just fine And the people that work there are always helpful. Yes it is a old center I think like 50 years old that tells me that there doing something right to keep the bowling center rolling for that many years. As for the price if a NEW Center was to be built the price would be much higher like 5 bucks a game is the norm in newer centers. So I dont thinks it's all that bad and there is one in town.

In a nice place like Elizabethtown I think it's a shame that Dix E Town Lanes is the only place we have to go bowl. It's old, stinky and ran-down. I could not imagine how they pass health inspection and are able to serve food. We really like to bowl but I will drive to Ft Knox or Bowling Green before going back there.

I have only bowled their a few times but never with my own equipment. I don't understand why they even have a snack bar I would not pay for food from there. Plus they should have door's put in the bathroom stalls. Did not like seeing a man using the bathroom when I was in there.
