|Man can this place fall any further. The fool running it is rude talks to his employees in front of customers like they are dirt treats customers like they are idiots. You go there thru the day when hes there and you stand waiting for ever. Hes always "busy" yea ok sure he is. Why dont they get rid of him and put someone in place that can run it right. Used to be a nice place to go.Wondering why the upper folks cant see he was sent packing from his other job. Now its doing very well. Come on owner get the picture he is a fool cast him out before you become a memory in Terre Haute biz|

|I SEEN WERE THE BOWLING CENTER TOOK OUT 12 LANES AND IS PUTTING IN A PLAY AREA THAT IS A WASTE OF MONEY. I GIVE IT A COUPLE YEARS AND THE ENTIRE BUSINESS WILL BE CLOSED DOWN. I DON'T WHY THEY REOPENED AFTER THE FLOOD THEY CAN'T KEEP BOWLERS. MOST OF THEIR LEAGUES HAVE LEFT AND WENT TO VIGO BOWL.|

|Everyone else is commenting so I thought I would as well. I usually don't comment on things but seems like there is a lot of bad things going on here, and maybe if enough people say something they will change.
So can't the owner of this business see what is happening right in front of their eyes? I bowled on the Sunday night league there, and we since have moved to another center, there are a great number of us that will not go back as long as they keep the current management. If someone took the time to poll some of their ex bowlers to find out why they left I think they would find that the center the way it is nothing but a sinking ship.
They have no idea how to treat customers, and more so over, they treat the league bowlers like trash. The guy that sat in on our meeting when we decided to move to another center, instead of trying to keep us, all he could say was, WE WILL HAVE A SUNDAY NIGHT LEAGUE! but as far as I know they do not. I guess that is all I have to say, except owner, wake up soon before it is too late for you.|
|Comment Date: 4/14/2012 Name: Glow Bowl?|
|Well I guess glow bowl is about all they have, somewhere I read they had the best light show in town, one of their flyers I think so we went in and all we saw were black lights which more than cover the center and looked really nice as far as black lights go, then the special effects lighting was turned on and all 2 of them lit up about 3 or 4 lanes, LOL oh yeah that is the best light show in town if this was the only center in town. LOL what a joke for lights.|
|Comment Date: 4/11/2012 Name: Looking To Bowl|
|Wow! talk about a bowling alley that has a lot of bad vibes, I am new in town and looked up places to bowl, found this site and all the stuff that is being said about this place is enough for me to look at the other bowling alleys before I decide where I will be bowling, something bad going on at this center, a lot of unsatisfied customers.|

|There were 6 of us, we spent $51.00 + just to get us on the lanes to bowl, with games & shoes for each of us, asked for some beer and was told that the bartender had called off work, and that there would be no bar at all for the evening because no-one had a licence to serve. We were nice about it and told her that we were sorry but we would like our money back, which she gave to us, and we ended up going to Imperial Lanes just up the street. I think running a business is to hard for these folks, do they not know that the purpose of a business is to sell your goods and/or services? This is now the second time we have left, because they could not serve food or drinks the last time, so this will be the last complaint you will see from us, as we will not be going back. |

|I must agree with you In School, I was also there, and the way that man talks is terrible. I find it hard to believe that one of the school's representatives did not address that when it happened, you must kind of wonder just where their head is by letting this take place. I would be more than happy to go with you when you address this with the school board. I think it is inexcusable for someone representing a business to be allowed to talk to our children that way. |
|Comment Date: 3/23/2012 Name: In School|
|Well I don't know about the rest of the teachers & parents that were here yesterday for the In School Bowling Program, but the guy that was running it I think he called his self Mr. Phil was one of the rudest men I have ever seen in my life, he talked to our children like they were dirt. If I have anything to do with it, I am going to go to the school board and if there is no other place to take this, I am going to see about putting an end to it. Either that or they need someone there that enjoys kids, because this guy does not! Our kids do not need this kind of re-enforcement, really neg. and that is sad!|

|Oh man... can you believe it, I went into the Center yesterday after moving back to town, can you believe they put this guy in charge? Wow talk about the captian going down with his ship, they sure put the right guy in charge of blasting a hole in the side of the ship from the inside, out, lol
Needless to say I turned around and walked out.
I know where I won't be bowling this fall.
Good luck to you all, I think your going to need it.|

|Has anyone ever noticed that all events other than something for the children, are based around a hand full of higher avg. bowlers? they have all of these scratch tournaments and sweepers for a handful of above avg. bowlers, well what about the avg. bowlers? and more so the women? There are others of us out here that have money too, and I know there are more of us avg. bowlers than above avg. bowlers.|

|Heres a good one for ya all, You know they have no-one in the terre haute bowling center during the day that can fix food or serve beer? they were 3 of us, stopped in to bowl a few games during the week and during the day, was going to eat and have some beer, they could not turn the ovens on or serve beer until 5:00 pm, we packed up & went to Imperial ended up staying there for almost 3 & 1/2 hours, I guess some things are harder for some to figure out than others. hahaha
What a great place to start a business.|

|One of the most un-organized centers I have ever seen.
We had a birthday party there, and will never do it again, they had 2 other parties at the same time ours was, we were rushed out of the party room, our food was late getting there, and the hostess if that is what they want to call them was so busy elsewhere, we might as well not even been there.
Will never again pay prices like that, and do all the work ourselves.
If you are thinking of parties, I would for sure shop around if I were you.|

|I as many others do not see how in the world they can keep putting money into this place.
If they would put out a feeler as to why their customers are leaving maybe they would try to do something about it, then again maybe not.
Maybe they do not want to know the reason, maybe they are letting it bankrupt itself.
I myself as with many others will not be bowling there as long as they keep the present management, enough said!|
|Comment Date: 10/18/2011 Name: Jason|
|WOW! One dollar games? Really? during the winter season? while leagues are paying out the b*tt to bowl? they must reallly be close to the bottom if they have to give it away to get bowlers in there.
If they are not going to put someone in there that truly knows & cares about the center, why not save the money & the time and just close it down? It is sure heading there anyways, so just like a lame horse, why don't ya all just shoot it and get it over with?|
|Comment Date: 8/5/2011 Name: FORMER LEAGUE BOWLER|
|i looked at the web page and on the pro shop it said phil is by far the most trained in terre haute newsflash david fields has been doing it a lot longer and is very well trained and vigo's pro shop has a nice line of inventory that man has to pay for everything in his shop unlike phil the center pays for it all.|
|Comment Date: 8/5/2011 Name: League Bowler|
|Why is all the the LEAGUES leaving the the bowling center,it's probably because they think there so much better then all the other houses in Terre Haute i would be suprised if it's open in 2 yrs. |

|Why would a person put all that time & money into rebuilding a center like this, just to let it get run into the ground, and their web site as Richard says, it s*cks, here is a line from it: "State of the art technology and a professional, attentive staff"
Come folks let's get real their is nothing professional or attentive about the staff that was there when we went in.
Our experience was Friday July 22nd we got their about 10 am myself and 3 kids, now I know I am a woman, but the man that was at the counter that day, talked to me as if I was the lowest thing on earth, he was very rude, and it was almost 12 mins, before we finally got service and was put on a lane.
Free bowling for my kids or not, I would much rather pay to have them bowl than to be treated like scum. Will not be going back.|
|Comment Date: 7/22/2011 Name: Janet|
|I must agree with you Richard, it looks as if the place if trying to run itself into the ground. Anyway our expeience with this center, was also a bad one. First of all we stand at the counter for almost 7 mins. while this guy is sitting right there in front of us, on the phone.
Now the lanes that he gave us were terrible, the floor where we were bowling had some sticky stuff on it & trash under the seats, this is at like 10:30 in the morning, had there really been that much business in there, to leave that kind of a mess?
So my kids got to bowl 2 games for free, I paid for mine, does that mean we have to bowl in filth? Will probably not go back there for awhile, will possibly try another bowling center, there are many to choose from in Terre Haute.|

|Well where to begin, I went on-line to check out specials, and have you seen that cheesy Web Site They have? what happened to the good one, where are all the pictures, where is all the stuff that use to be there, there were times you could spend an hour or so, just looking at their website. Then we finally end up there, and the place is very unorganized, dirty and their food prices have gone up, what is with that?
You would think a guy would be trying to get people into his place of business, not drive them away.|

|Bowled in women's state. Clean, friendly, and great scores.
Can't say that for Vigo Bowl. Only wish we could bowl there full time. |
|Comment Date: 2/18/2011 Name: league secutary|
|This place charges way to much for lineage there for it leaves no money for prize fund at year end and why is Vigo leagues growing so much. I know there are much friendlier than this place.|

|i hate to agree with the negitive comments here but after many many years bowling there this looks to be my last year there. Its just no fun there. The shot has went to hell and no one seems to care. The place is dirty and i think the janitor knows what clean is. There is never anyone in the pro shop and its just sad. This was the place to be years ago. I am unsure about the other places there shot is so easy that the avgs are inflated and thats not what i want either. So guess its indy to bowl or retire. so sad isnt it this place is sinking deeper and deeper,|
|Comment Date: 1/5/2011 Name: Former League Member|
|I don't know what to say about this place anymore. I know this will be my last year bowling here. The leagues don't have as good of prize fund as the others in town. The atmosphere is a lot better in the other bowling alleys also. I was in there the other day and you had an employee being yelled at with every cuss word in the book being thrown around. I don't understand what goes through your mind when you are doing that in front of customers. I also bowled the New Year's Day Sweeper and it was so disorganized that they couldn't even tell me the last to cash until the tournament was done. When asked why they couldn't have an updated standing sheet, they said they didn't have the manpower to do that. I'm just fed up with being treated like garbage there they seem to not care if they keep your business or not. I won't be back that is for sure.|

|this is the worse place to get a ball drilled Phil has no clue on what he is doing ill go to Vigo where i know i can get it done right hes got years of experience. And this is the worse place to bowl leagues all they want is $$$$$$$$$$$$.|
|Comment Date: 11/17/2010 Name: Anonymous|
|Well I like to say that the bowling has changed alot over the years....not for the better either. Since Phil is back in the picture, the place has really went to pots. The youth program, use to have a coach, but don't anymore. If you bowl saturday mornings, your ok...you will get the help you want.|
|Comment Date: 9/14/2010 Name: League Bowler|
|Ok guessing that management really doesnt care there. You never see them in the evenings when leagues are bowling. And they seem to be uncaring to the bowlers that remain loyal there. You would think owners would be sticking a foot up somones backsides and get them in the game not just collecting a check |
|Comment Date: 3/6/2010 Name: League Bowler|
|Isnt it bad enough we have to deal with the ignorance of leadership but now we have to deal with yelling and screaming. League bowlers going to the front counter yelling every cuss word their limited brain can throw out. This guy needs to be thrown out of the place. he is nothing but a idiot. And where the heck was management while this was going on? Hiding as usual i guess|
|Comment Date: 2/19/2010 Name: N/A|
|Man this place just gets worse by the day. Go into league and I guess there isnt anyone there on days who can clean. Had to wade thru candy and mess all over the carpet . Good god man get off your a**es and do the job you are being paid for yeesh.|

|Bowling center is not horrible, at least bowling wise. The approaches on wedesday night are a lot better than on thursdays though. On wedsday their clean on thursdays the approaches are filthy. I know its on the other end of the house but why cant the approaches be clean on thursday? I never have problems wedsday but thursday its stick, clean shoe, stick, clean shoe.|

|Hate to add to the complaints but I was at the center opening bowling the other nite. The guy behind the counter made a call about a lane issue and the young man that was there at the counter started cussing and went to the back to fix it I assume. All we heard since it was not real busy was him yelling at the top of his voice and throwing stuff in the back. This isnt a very good way to spend the evening. He was a very bad acting young man who seemed mad at the world. This doesnt repersent that place well. The guy behind the counter apoligized for the outburst and said the guy was having a bad day or something. Still not very professional.|

|Well not sure about alot of what people have been complaining about. But i do have alot of problems with pin carry there and sticking on the new approaches. I have talked to some of the other league bowlers and they also have some issues at times. You can see when you go up to pick up spares and on the extreme left and right that there will be residue and little spots of oil on the approach. Just wish they would take better care of this issue. |

|I agree things arent being done there like they used to. Ive been going in there for years. Alot of the help isnt friendly or helpful. A couple of the employees i have known for years and they are always pleasant and offer help if they can. The new staff just doesnt get it. They haul babies around want to hang out at the desk area and never where they are supposed to be. Not sure who ever is supposed to be in charge is doing what they are being paid for. I think the owners should rethink the driection they are taking. I go to the other centers here in town and you can usually find a manager around during league times not there at the THBC i dont fully blame the workers they cant do what they arent allowed to. They just help when they can with what they got. |

|I was in this establishment about 2 weeks ago on a Thursday night with my friends bowling there was 2 women in there behind the counter, we were having trouble with our lane and tring to get it fixed turned out to be quite a job. We called from the lane and the girl that answered our call we could not understand it sounded like a baby crying into the speaker, so my friend & I went to the counter only to find out that this young girl with black hair was holding a crying baby in her arms and tring to wait on customers, when she got to us, the baby was still crying they finally got our lane repaired we finished our game and left. This bowling center is not here for the customers, not sure why it is here, but we will not be going back, too many other centers in town that have better business practices.|

|Glow Bowl a joke...
They tell you that they have glow bowl when all they do is turn on the disco lights & turn the music up. I took my kids into the bowling center and it was like 9:30 in the evening glow bowl is to start at 9pm I go up to the desk and ask why there is no glow blowl and the young guy that was at the counter said he didn't think he was going to run it, not enough people, and that the lady on the end lanes did not want them to turn out the lights because her kids did not like the dark. So I go to the lady at the end lanes & asked her if this was true, she told me no that it was not true her kids would love the flashing lights. So here you go not only has this employee been rude to me to begin with, he also lied to me about why he was not going to turn on the lights but he also lied about another customer who had no idea that he had lied about her. So if you decide to go to the Terre Haute Bowling Center, please be careful you may become the center of employee that has no business being there because he must hate his job or he is just tired of dealing with people. This guy has no business being in the company of the public, he does not like people.|

|Went to a tournament here yesterday for New Years Day, Although the bowling center is a pleasent one to look at the help that was there for the tournament was terrible, my group waited & waited for snack bar service then went to the front counter to ask for help only to be greeted by a young girl standing there with an almost new born baby in her arms waiting on customers, how business like is that, if it were not for the tournamnet I would not have even been in there, and will probably not return next year for the tournamnet. The customer should be the most important thing in a place of business, to me the Terre Haute Bowling Center does not see it that way.|

|The Terre Haute Bowling Center has got to be the laughing stock of the bowling industry.
Food is terrible & overpriced, restrooms stink and are filthy, They spent a ton of money in there after the flood that hit us, which our house was totally destroyed, but after spending all of this money they put a guy in charge that has no idea what he is doing and the place is a mess, I am sure the owner has no idea of the lack of management that he has entrusted to such person. Anyways the secret to free bowling in there is to complain, our birthday party was a shambles in which the girl spent more time at the counter than with us, and he gave us free game coupons and the first time no paper in the restroom and it stinks got us more free games, how can he be making them any money? Anyone else out there getting free stuff from the bowling center?|

|We have had our children participating in bowling camps with this center, and have truly been pleased. The kids are learning to "love" the sport of bowling. Not only have they been taught the sport from well versed adults, but they have been welcomed and loved! Thanks for all the support and helping our kids.|
