I'd like to know the hours. Do they open early in the morning? where can I find this info. I called to the Ph # provided and nobody picked up the phone, and there is no mail box to leave a message. Uffff

After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried! I had scheduled a birthday party for my two kids (ages 6 and 8). We had 8 other young guests and everyone had a great time! The staff was very helpful, the party price was quite reasonable (especially given that the hourly rate is pro-rated for the time that you actually bowl). It couldn't have gone better!

this place.. has a certain sort of charm about it. yes it is run down and the employees sort of do s*ck. but you know it's all we have and if you get drunk enough while you're there it's really always a good time. and over the years of drunken fun you grow to love it. even if it does smell like stale cigarette smoke. i love you colonial lanes. also they have put put golf...and retro pinball machines...

They employees are incredibly rude, and are unable to keep consistent hours and it seems that anytime the employees feel that they are tired of work they shut down. I have very rudely been thrown out of this place many times. I urge you to NOT go to this bowling alley. I know that it's the only one in Iowa City but if they stop getting business maybe they will realize that they need to change their ways. DO NOT GO TO COLONIAL LANES! DO NOT.

My bowling ball gets pretty beat up at Colonial. I get black scuff marks and numerous scratches on my ball. This does not occur at the lanes I go to in Cedar Rapids.

The employees have a serious attitude problem. They bowl in the leagues and if you criticise the lanes they take it personally. If they can't handle it they need to hook their homes up to the hitch and hit the road.

to you travel-I'm sorry that because the place is run down, you cannot appreciate its inner beauty. I think it's really sad that you can judge other people (rednecks) but cannot use grammar properly or spell correctly. Maybe you should go back to 8th grade english grammar class.

This place is run down and crappy i would never bowl here again if it were the only bowling ally in iowa its sooooooo run down the food is moldy and it smells like cheap cigars and beer and the people who go and bowl there look wow intresting looking (redneck) this place needs to be torn down and rebuilt

lanes change everyday, sadly the only place in town now without coral. best bet is to head to cedar rapids...lots of deals. colonial has no specials and charge to much for youth bowling. owner is a cheap skate and was pretty much bullied into supporting high school bowling

I'm a teenage boy who averages a game of at least 150 and i go their to get my ball drilled..They do a good job...also for another nice bowling alley come down to Mt. Pleasant Iowa to Iris Bowling Center..Full bar, pool tables, and also arcade games are in the lounge...very very good lanes their..and duh USBC is their too

It is quite a shame that this bowling alley has gone down hill over the years. This is not the place to go bowling, different lane conditions every day. Would be best to travel east to Muscatine.

this is a nice, bright, large alley. they have a full bar with pool tables, which is nice. that said, from a bowling perspective, the synthetic surface is usually heavily oiled. this is not an old school hardwood lanes type alley. fun for the kids. good facility, but not my choice for dedicated bowling. try coral lanes north a couple miles in coralville.

Colonial lanes has a very great atmosphere with lots of nice people and shot here is very competitive with other big houses that I have bowled in. They also have great food, that is reasonably priced. If you like putt putt they also have a 18 hole course that is a blast. Keep up the good work guys!!!!
