Put the cell phones down and pay attention and attend to customers standing and waiting for service.

Comment Date: 6/28/2015 Name: Lexi Hannity
In the two hous I was there employees spend more time smoking and texting. Its irritating to stand and wait at the cou ter for the person waiting on me to finish smoking to come inside.

Comment Date: 4/21/2015 Name: Linda Jergin
Over priced and expensive from the front counter to the food court. I am surprised they do not charge to use the rest rooms here.

Comment Date: 12/10/2014 Name: Roger Paston
Food prices are beyond outrageous. The quality of the food doesn't come close to the prices they charge. I don't mind paying a little more, but I expect to get what I pay for. The food is below poor in taste and quality. Eat, drink or whatever before you go there to bowl or after. Don't waste your there. They bend you over enough just to bowl.

Comment Date: 11/22/2014 Name: Jim Scanlan
This place is NOT for serious bowlers. This is more like a amusement park and is more for kids, birthday parties, arcade games and families. If that's what your looking for this is the place. If you are just a bowler, who is serious and just wants to bowl, go to Bowl America. Twenty minutes or less from there.

Comment Date: 10/19/2014 Name: Marty Norton
This place, their prices and the people who work here are a complete joke. Go to Dave & Busters at Arundel Mills. It's better quality and value and worth the drive.

Comment Date: 2/18/2014 Name: Janice
Pass on this place. Much too expensive. Not competitive on prices with other places in Glen Burnie.

Comment Date: 12/2/2013 Name: Brenda B
I've noticed too much text and smoking also while I'm there with my kids.

Comment Date: 11/16/2013 Name: Jackie
Had to wait for person to finish texting before I got waited on at front counter. Not very good customer service.

Comment Date: 9/25/2013 Name: Chris J
Over rated, over hyped, over priced. From the food, drinks and bowling right down to the attitudes of the people running the joint. They're not the only alley in town people. Shop your team and league around for the over all best value. Even if it means drving a little further north on Ritchie. They're are four other places just up the road!

Comment Date: 3/15/2013 Name: Peter
Way too much horse play going on between the employees. I know it's just a bowling alley, but it was getting to be a bit much. Just my observation while i was bowling with my kids.

Comment Date: 2/21/2013 Name: Jack
This places tries to emulate Splitsville in VA. Nice try. This place couldn't hold their bowling balls. Be original and stop trying to copy others.

Comment Date: 2/7/2013 Name: Jon L
I love your nice big parking lot. I will have plenty of time to spend there now. Thanks for allowing me to use your Annapolis lot. This one is closer to my home now. Thanks a million. Maybe some more free TV time for this center.

Comment Date: 2/7/2013 Name: Kevin McHaley
This place tries to copy Spitsville bowling centers. This place couldn't hold their lunch or their balls!

Comment Date: 1/8/2013 Name: Dave
Workers need to stop texting and pay attention to customers.

Comment Date: 12/6/2012 Name: Tammy G
I stood at the food counter and waited for person to finish smoking to come in to take my order and prepare food. The smell of smoke on them almost made me puke. Lost my appetite.

Comment Date: 7/8/2012 Name: Poor now.
Way over priced. No family friendly value here! See you in the fall! Can only afford to come a few times a year here. sorry we are not rich severa park or arnold people.

Comment Date: 6/12/2012 Name: Happy
What a bunch of Angry Liberals on here. It's a BOWLING ALLEY folks, WTF do you expect. A bunch of fat women with nothing better to do than spend their husbands money and go on forums and complain. OMG get a life

Comment Date: 4/24/2012 Name: BS
My son bowls in a league there, have been going since last September and haven't had any issues & he likes going there

Comment Date: 4/6/2012 Name: Tom Keebler
Seemed like a bunch of kids working there horse playing around and kind of rude using foul language with in ear shot of my young children.

Comment Date: 2/17/2012 Name: Roland McKeany
this place is nice but the people who work here and run this place just plainly s*ck. i dont know any other way to put it.

Comment Date: 2/15/2012 Name: Bruce Givens
Nice place, clean, modern and very upscale. However, way too expensive and very over priced. Food, drink and games way over the top. We could never make this place a regular place to take the kids. This is only a couple times a year place to go with a big fmaily.

Comment Date: 1/16/2012 Name: Jay Evens
Was there New Years eve.. kids off all ages drinking it up. 21 years of age seemed like it didnt apply there that night. Seemed like adults were buying beer by the tray full and handing it out to all the under 21 kids in their groups.

Comment Date: 12/30/2011 Name: joe bowler
maybe they get more comments because they are busier.been to other centers that dont care. employees at severna park are very helpful. price wise its your choice to go or not

Comment Date: 12/22/2011 Name: Ashley Brady
i called to see if they had any open lanes. They put me on hold and never came back to take my call. I called back and they asked, can you hold please? before i could say no, i was placed on hold again. They are either understaffed, playing games or just dont want to deal with customer calls. I called glen burnie bowl, they answered and told me they had open lanes. Took the kids there for a couple of games of ducks. Not as nice as severna park. but, all around cheaper and they took my call. food, drinks and couple of games didnt break the bank there. If you neek ducks for the kids to bowl, Glen burnie is the better bet for whats its going to cost you.

Comment Date: 12/14/2011 Name: Anonymous
Very expensive for a family of four. For food, drinks and bowling it is comparative to taking family to a professional football game or baseball game at camdem yards. Unless you show up at some weird time of day when a "special" is going on. Bottom line, very expensive, very over priced, and very over-rated. This place can not be a regular place for you to take your family for a family night out. The place is nice, no doubt. Family value? Think not.

Comment Date: 11/26/2011 Name: Dawn B.
Severna Park Lanes should take a good look at itself and whats going on. No other centers get nearly as much bashing and the trash talking that is going on here. Take a sample look at some other Maryland centers on this site. Not nearly the same trash on any of the others. Why is this? I think Severna Park Lanes management, ownership and employees bring this trash on to them self. In essence, they ask for it. It's obvious that the management, employees and owners are half the ones posting on here with rebuttals and fueding with the others and thus fueling the fire for more trash and bash on here. Severn Park Lanes, grow up! By posting on here anonymously to argue with others about your center, you're no better. I'm a local bowler who stumbled across this site by accident looking for aother local bowling web site. After just browsing real quick, I could not believe the stuff I reading. I could not help just to post a quick note of what I was observing.

Young idiot employees at the front desk were extremely rude and unhelpful. It's like you're bothering them if you seek any assistance at all.

Comment Date: 8/25/2011 Name: Becky J.
double charged me on my debit card. called and acted like they had no idea what i was talking about or what to do. had to call bb&t and dispute charge.

Comment Date: 7/26/2011 Name: Anonymous
"Anonymous" is obviously the manger or owners! Read all posts by Anonymous. Nothing like shameless self promotion, or making up "happy cusomter" stories to post to off set all the poor or horror stories about this joint. How pathetic is that

Comment Date: 7/24/2011 Name: Anonymous
Went bowling today with my family to get out of the heat! Had a great time. Games were only 1.99 from 9-noon. Pizza is awesome!

Comment Date: 2/7/2011 Name: Customer
Yes, they're nice to you as they are running your credit card three times in hopes you dont notice when the bill comes.

Comment Date: 1/21/2011 Name: Bob
Severna Park lanes is a fun enjoyable place to be. Many people have said that the service isnt that great but you just have to realize that they may also have to be dealing with something else at the same time so you have to be patient. When I go there, they are normally nice and friendly to me. It may be your attitude towards them that make them the way you say they are. All that I know is that the bowling alley itself is a great place to have fun and bowl!

Comment Date: 12/28/2010 Name: Jamal Thomas
The front desk seem to be blunt and cold toward us and i felt it was because we were people of color. Then I watched to see how other people were treated, white people. They were greeted and helped much better then us. It was so obvious. Then I looked around and seen not one African American working there. Pattern? Ive read other posts on here with people that has same problem. You think in this day prejudice is not at stong. What do they care what color I am? I am spending my money there. I guess they were afraid we were going to steal something or hold them up. Thats how they made me feel. We were humiliatted. I guess they dont see much color in Severna Park area in general. We will stick to Glen Burnie area bowling from now on.

Comment Date: 12/22/2010 Name: Mindy
Same with me. I got doulble charged also. I just called credit card company and they handeled it. Use cash only at this place. Once, is a mistake maybe but seems like a tred to me. for each person who notices it, how many people dont? How many persons do you think dont pay attention and thats money their ripping off and goes right in their pocket. I dont know how these people can rest at night knowing they rip people off in hopes they dont notice. Make sure you have your signed recipt and hang on to it or use cash!! They charge too much already. thats not enough?

Comment Date: 12/21/2010 Name: The Kerns Family
They also double charged my credit card also. Twice for same amount same day! I called there and they did not want to help me or look into it either. I had to call Visa and place a fraud alert and dispute for this merhcant.

Comment Date: 12/5/2010 Name: Cathy
Severna Park lanes charged me twice for the same amoumt back to back. Went there to try to straighten it out. Counter was no help and didnt really even kmow how to handle it. Call and spoke to manager or owner and again, they didnt want to help or look into it for me. So i had to go through Citi Bank and dispute the charge. BEWARE. I dont know if this was on purpose or not. But I'm thinking it was now by the way I was treated. BEWARE OF THE SCAM they pull there. So they are either totally incompetant from the bottom to the top manger or they are scam artist. Dont take the chance.

Comment Date: 9/22/2010 Name: Danny
For those of you who want to know this place is a dump. I bowled there once and my ball got so banged up I had to get it redone. Pinsetters are crap. It doesn't even know when you get a strike.

Comment Date: 8/30/2010 Name: ayru
Not impressed. Your typical corporate run down house. Lanes has the trampoline effect. Employees were discourteous.

Comment Date: 8/4/2010 Name: bowler
yes. yes are racist bigots that work there and own the place. They are prejudice to the most that you can be. Its so obvious. Ever heard of EEOC severna park bowl? Or Affirmative action? How about NAACP? keep it up and you will be become very familiar with thoes terms.

Comment Date: 2/16/2010 Name: wanger
I mean can someone plow the parking lot here. Is the lanes going to reopen or is it closed?

Comment Date: 12/20/2009 Name: The bowling bowler
They are Jewish! They just held a bowling session open to Jewish people only. They said it was a Hanukka gift for their fellow jew's in the County. They featured liviot, soofganit and the lighting of the Menorah. There was a story featured in a local news paper this past Saturday with a picture of the owner with the article. Looked very nice.

The place is old and ran down, the food is priced higher then it should be, and the maganger up there is the rudest {deleted} ever, yelled and my kid and gave my husband I a very ugly looks the rest of the night. Maybe I'll back back in month and she will be gone, just like all the other managers that come and go. Don't go to this one, its a waste a time and money.

I spoke to wawa corp. of MD and the Severna Park Lanes is the future site of a station. Construction to begin early next year. Really let it go guys find another place to go. So sad........

Comment Date: 9/25/2009 Name: Anonymous
I'm here to set the story straight! This bowling center is here to Stay! I don't know where you guys get your information from but I spoke with the owner and he assured me that the bowling center is not going to be a Wawa. These folks operate clean family oriented value priced centers. Furthermore this website has no way of validating anything that is posted so things should not be taken so seriously.

matt. you must be a youth bowler, because there is only a youth league at severna park on thursdays, and no leagues at night

Comment Date: 8/28/2009 Name: Annie B
It's a bowling alley folks, let's keep some perspective. For the many, many, families who use SP Lanes for family fun, the place is great. It's bright, clean, and smoke free. Sure, the food may be a little costly--so eat before you go. We've held 3 birthday parties there and have never encountered anything by polite and respectful staff. Our "Birthday Party" helpers have always been cheerful. I'm not sure what all the grousing is about. Support local business or not, but don't tear them down because they are not the "Ritz Carlton" of the area's bowling alleys.

Comment Date: 8/20/2009 Name: Matt
I bowl there on Thursdays. I'll ask tonight about the closing situation. As far as I know, they are still open. Signed up for next season and everything. Roy, if you want a good bowling alley, go to Crofton Bowling Centre. It may be a drive but the quality is SOOO much better than the Severna Park/Greenway/Annapolis franchise. Unfortunatly I was talked into bowling there this season (on Saturday) while I bowl on another league on Thursdays at Crofton. What people who comment on both of these alleys, as well as any other, is that lanes need to be reset. meaning reoiled, stuff in the back needs worked on, etc. It takes alot to maintain an alley. If you walk in and see half the lanes empty but at the desk they say no free lanes, chances are somethings going on in back that needs to be fixed. That being said, I still would not suggest this alley. The staff is lazy. They are usually high school kids or freshmen college kids looking to make a quick buck on an easy job.

Comment Date: 8/10/2009 Name: Roy Munson
So if I don't get my refund from Severna Park Lanes will Wawa owe me or just one of their other craptastic lanes?

Comment Date: 8/10/2009 Name: pin chaser
wawa will make decsion in the fall on a time line. not tear the place down in the fall. i work at Severna Park lanes. They will be moving the duck pins to Greenway when this happens.

Comment Date: 7/11/2009 Name: no dummy
check the property search database, there is not a mention of wild goose.

Comment Date: 7/11/2009 Name: nopinchaser
so management told you, huh?what center do you work at?why is my fall league starting again in september? It would be hard to bowl in a wawa,

Comment Date: 6/19/2009 Name: pin chaser
No. but we've been told by management what's going on and what will happen in the future. some workers will relocate to annapolis and greenway and some will not. they said they recieved a offer for the property and it was one they could not turn down. its going to be a big wawa gas station from what we have been told. i think they are going to relocate the duck pin lanes.

Comment Date: 6/17/2009 Name: jefferson
Will the same slack-jaw employees work at the wawa as the lanes?

Comment Date: 6/7/2009 Name: Severna Park
Actually, Wild Goose Holding Company (a.k.a. Wawa) has owned the actual real estate there since the fall of 2008 and was planning to start construction for a Wawa super gas center there in the summer of 2009. Wawa has decided to hold off on redevelopment and construction due to the recent increase of the economic down turn in the begininning of 2009. Wawa has stated that they are going to reevaluate the situation in the fall of 2009 and set a tentative construction and redevelopment time line then.

Just disgruntled and immature employees or former employees with no life on here. Immature and emotional managemnt also on here giving rebuttals, feeding each other back and forth. Obviously both parties have a lot of time on their hand with nothing else better to do and need to get a life.

Comment Date: 5/5/2009 Name: Mr. Jefferson
Bowler Dave likes it and that's because he works here with the other special people that rip people off.

Comment Date: 4/30/2009 Name: Bowler Dave
I don't get it. Place is ok. It is not that bad. Clean and new equipment and sofa seats. I came in to bowl and not live there. What's the deal here? Sounds like someone out there is out to close the place? Just what bowling needs ... another dark facility. Think about before you say anything like is posted. Been to so many facilities that this place has nothing to be ashamed about. The additions show they care.

Whoa Roy you seriously had a bad experience there and you don’t appear to be plugging any other bowling ally. I hate that you have a bad taste in your mouth and would like to make it better. Come down to AMP in Pasadena and we will give you a free rental and 4 free game for you and a guest. Our games cost half the price and the courteous staff is more than happy to serve your bowling needs. Just ask for Gus and I will take care of you.

Who said the vulgar language was used when I was there in-person? I don’t work at a bowling. If I did I would promote it. The last time I had such poor customer service was 3 years ago at a Circuit city. It took a year to resolve in my flavor and we all know where Circuit city is now. You’re ten times more likely to tell about a bad customer service experience then a good one. Why don’t you first apologize and try to resolve this dreadful experience I had at Severna Park Lanes. I know this will not come effortlessly. The only verdict is vengeance, a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain. This not the only forum I have enlighten others on the experience they will encounter at Severna Park Lanes.

Comment Date: 3/31/2009 Name: puzzled
roy munson, why did you not mention the vulgar language in your first post.what center go you work at?

Comment Date: 3/30/2009 Name: Wilson Davies
I would have to agree on how Claudia Angel feels about Severna Park Lanes. The employees there are very rude. My ball got damaged there and i heard from a lot of others about ball damage as well. They fix the ball for you but the ball is never the same once it is damaged. And I heard a lot about the guy who I believe his name is {Name Deleted} always bothers women there and scares away customers. I don’t know the guy personally but he seems very drunk, loud and rude to the customers. If you want to bowl somewhere nice I heard good feedback from Greenway bowl and Crofton.

Comment Date: 3/30/2009 Name: Roy Munson
Employees at this “establishment” (and I use that term loosely) used vulgar language at me when I inquired about the bill. The employee questioned my intelligence and told me “ If you don't like it don't come back.” My question is that if your dog is not in the fight…..why are you picking one? If I want to warn people, I will warn them. If you look at past entries to this forum clearly I am not the only one. That is if you can filter the “BS” ads posted by the interested party i.e. you ED T.

Learn and practice bowlers ettiquette. By the way, the folks at this place are a little brusque, but it's a bowling alley for crissakes, not a day care center.

Comment Date: 3/27/2009 Name: EdT
Hey Roy, you have lost any credibility you might have had.I don't have a dog in this fight....appears YOU however have a personal grudge against this center. If you really expect people to believe you paid $40 for 3 games you are way off base.( OR REALLY STUPID) If you don't like this center for some reason...don't go there but please spare everyone your lies and BS. By the way, I don't work for these guys as you seem to think since you refer to "my pizza",,,,like I said I don't have a dog in this fight. Have a nice day.

Hey Roy, how many games did you and your date bowl for $40 with a coupon? At $4.35 a game that would be 10 games plus your free ones. Just how much did you expect to pay for about 14 games? Apparently you don't get out much. And for Claudia...maybe YOU should stay with your teenaged daughter? No excuse for allowing drunks to bother them but a little parental supervision couldn't hurt.

I would just like to say that I dropped my daughter and her three friends off for Galaxy Bowl . There ages range from 15-17. They were sexually harassed by some druken patrons there. When they approached the "people",and I use that term losely, that worked there about this, they would not do anyhting about it. It was the person that collected their money and a "girl" behind the counter serving drinks. My daughter called me to pick them up early and was ashamed to tell me what had happened until we arrived home. I am furious that this happened. You think that this overpriced establishment are going to keep our kids safe. Hah! What a joke!!!

The lanes are nice and staff is okay.... but the price is not right. Compared to other larger established lanes Severna Park Lanes are prices are gouged. In these times we are looking for deals not rip-offs. I don't work at any lanes, unlike the last entry ad for Severna Park Lanes.

i have gone there a few times because its convenient and thats it. prices are grossly high and the staff acts as if it s a huge task to help you.im not sure if it is because of the fact it is ran by the people belonging to the crazy place known as antioch on rt 2. i think thats the reasoning behind the lack of asistance and cash only everywhere. hurray for money laundering!

i bowled there a few weeks ago,and was not overchrged, was charged correctly for food and beverages(price menus are posted),and employees helped me and my family have a great time.p.s. the game prices are also posted at the front desk.i have bowled at southdale and their prices are higher, and the place is dirty, employees seem indifferent(maybe not all),but most.

I went there this weekend for the first time this weekend and had a great time with my date until I paid the bill. The reason I went there is because I had a coupon from the Entertainment book for matching free games up to 4. I hate to pay the bill without the coupon because the price paid was more than double I am used to at other lanes….over $40!

I just Called The Severna Park Lanes and they were very rude. They mocked me and yelled at me. I will never again use their lanes

I have gone to this bowling alley three times. For all the people supporting it, you must work there. They do not tell you the price to bowl, will misquote you if you ask, and overcharge on beverages and beer. You can say whatever you want to say about the other local bowling alleys, but at the very least they will be upfront to their customers and you will not have to worry about being ripped off for a night bowling. As for me, I will avoid this alley like the plague.

What a concept....ask for the information you want to know.Wow! There is a LOT to recommend for this center...just drive a few minutes up the road to Southdale to compare and then make a quick u-turn and say THANK YOU to Severna Park when you get back.Nice, clean, friendly ...

how about looking at the sign when you go in, or maybe even ask

How about listing all the costs for bowling? Not just Galaxy Bowling.

It is okay. Good place to bowl.

Galaxy Bowl starts at 11. It's $15 per person, but you get shoes and can bowl all the games you can until it ends.

The Over weight Attendant No Longer Works at the Center. The last time I was in everyone was very nice and helpful. My family and I had a wonderful time. They Offer good old fashioned fun with good value. They have Tenpin bowling as well as Duckpin. That is so COOL!

The overweight attendant at the front desk ignored me while he talked on the phone and my family and I were waiting to be helped. He was eating a cheeseburger and was very rude when my son lost a quarter in one of the arcade games. He said it wasn't his problem to give us another quarter. The facilities are nice, a bit overpriced, but the staff act like they could care less about the customers. I was thinking of joining a league, but I have changed my mind.

This is a great place to take your kids; it is CLEAN; they don't allow anyone to just linger around unless they are actually bowling (I've actually seen them ask someone to leave). The kids love the interactive score keeper; but don't forget to bring your CASH; they don't take credit cards!

It would be nice if the humidity was lower in the building. It always seems sticky when we are there. We see too many people falling on the approches.

What time does galaxy bowling start?

The Severna Park lanes are a lot of fun. However, the prices are a little higher than they should be. There should either be more specials or prices should be lowered altogether.

Watch out .... their advertisement for the "school's out special" all you can bowl for 2 hours for only $8 per person" is deceiving. This is only for kids, not for adults. They tell you when you actually book a lane, but it is on none of their flyers!!

This is fun and when they turn off the lights and turn on the other ones...awesome!
