I was so sorry to see S0-West Bowl close. It was the only bowling alley in So-Los Angeles that was left. my hope was that something positive to build up our infrastructure would take it's place. I don't think that will be the case, all S0-Los Angeles gets is Half-way houses, and Community Care Facilities that bring crime, loitering, and drugs. They never let us know what's coming until it's approved and permits have been awarded. It's sad how regional planning has such disrespect and little regard to the residents. time to speak up S0-LA, we deserve better.

I started bowling there in 1969 since my mother Marie Panzer was working there. Bowling was cheap and it was fun. Imet a lotof very nice people throughout the years and still know a lot of them now. Some have passed on and will cherish there memories for years to come as they taught me a lot about life. This bowling establishment wasn't the best, but is was nice to hang out there and with friends. This place will certainly be missed by a lot of awesome people that use to bowl there.

I was deeply to learn that Southwest Bowl closed on May 31, 2008. I have so many fond memories of the place, its difficult to know where to start. What ever happened to Dave T, Gwen, Al, Ray-Ray and Dave P? Remember them from the 70's and 80's?

Southwest Bowl will be missed by many avid community bowlers. It is a shame that real estate values and current economical issues have taken so many of our beloved Bowling Centers.

Southwest Bowl closed on May 31, 2008. The owner was both unable and unwilling to keep up with the changes in the bowling industry that would have made the business profitable. With that in mind, it was difficult, if not impossible, to say no to family members who co-owned the property and felt that the community was too poor to pay the cost of today's bowling.

I am a long time resident of the area around Southwest Bowling lanes and recently noticed the building and parking lot fenced off. I can only assumed that the only bowling lanes and recreational spot has closed. Does anyone know the current status of Southwest Bowling lanes?

I have been going to Southwest Bowl for over twenty years. You can't beat the price and for a single mom with her kids that's a big plus. The staff is always very professional, helpful and nice. I just wish they accepted ATM. There was an ATM machine there but it did not work. I had my son's birthday party there a few years ago and they accommodated us in every aspect. Keep up the great job Southwest!

I have truly fond memories of Southwest Bowl.I bowled there for many years as a junior and would not trade that experience for the world.I met a wonderful youngman there when I was a teenager and we are happily married now. We have taken our children there and have had a great time. Things have changed a bit, but things are okay.

I am 54 years old now. I have fond memories of So.West Bowl. As far back as when I was in the Child care Playroom with my brother and sister Jeff and Jodi, while My Parents Ruth and Jerry were Bowling on their League Teams. I had my first Cherry Coke there. Also Choc. and Lemon Cokes. We tried hard to convince our Parents that we were old enough to not go, to the Playroom with the other kids. But time and time again we proved ourselves not responsable enough to behave. Finally when my sister Jodi was 3, I was 5, and Jeff was 7 we joined our first Childrens League. We bowled their till our teens, winning Trophies nearly every season, and eating more Hamburgers, french fries and Cherry Cokes, than you could count. I recall thoes days as some of the most carefree days in my life, and it all happened there, at South West Bowling Center. I truly hope the owners there one day, bring it back to what I cherish as "The Day" any one that has memories of those days, and would like to communicate with me on "The good ol days" feel free to E-Mail me at {email address deleted} and keep "Followin threw." Southwest s*cks!

Not for kids, too much unchecked cursing by drunk adults around children; No tape in tape machine; Lanes 23, 24, 25 & 26 are absolutely horrible! Automatic scorekeeper machines are not maintained...flickering screens and very frequent scoring errors. Inside is filthy; Never enough desk help and how long does it take to post a photo on your own website?

7/16/2005 needs to get his facts straight. The proprietor only owns one bowling center. He does not own any other centers, especially one in Orange County.

Need to improve their security and overall appearance. Could be a beautiful place to bowl if management really cares like he does his other bowling centers!!

If you are a sanctioned bowler, don't bowl on lanes 23-24 & 25-26, they are not sanctioned by abc.

I would not take my kids to Southwest Bowling Lanes, especially during the tournaments, the ladies skirts are way too short. They should be ashamed of themselves, I thought this was a family sport, not an x-rated one.

Southwest is one of the last, best bowling centers in So Cal -- we bowl there all the time 'cause the people are friendly and we think their neon sign is so rad.
