|Lane quality, especially lanes 1-10? (the first 10 or 12?)is questionable, and that's putting it nicely. The staff is generally nice and helpful (except when that new lady isn't lying to you about not being able to move you off of your horrifically deformed lane(#1), yet there are still like 30 lanes available and being filled by walk-in customers every few minutes). And of course, you'll have to go and fetch someone if you'd like something from the completey new, small but pretty cool, bar. I mean, no reason to actually staff the bar right? It's not like your typical bowler likes to have any sort of adult beverage while bowling. Right?...
I think the place is reasonably clean, and things look great since the remodel. However, one thing: It's usually common practice in the United States of America to equip the men's (and womens) restroom with a common amenity known as a "m i r r o r". Take it slow, sound it out. It rhymes with, well, nothing I suppose. But with probably well over a hundred patrons on the premises on a busy weekend, you think that maybe Gus or Marty might wanna check their lettuce on their way back out to the lanes?? And it probably shouldn't take 2 two patrons for just one of them to wash their hands; one to hold down the sink water dispenser control while the other washes their hands. I mean, 1.5 seconds isn't very long for a paying patron to release the faucet's push down water release and then wash his hands. In fact, it's just long enough to get just enough water on your hands to create a spectacular water-prism splash effect as the 2 new turbo powered hand dryers, mounted just inches directly above the 2 sinks, engage to give you that 'Miami Vice driving-a-speed-boat' effect. Well, at least your soiled hands are as dry as the Sahara!
All-in-all, Eastern Lanes isn't THAT bad. If only the owner/management would take the time to actually use/test the facility while noting potential improvements. I guess that even in the ultra competitive 2013 business environment, some business owners are still capable of running their business like a low budget hourly hotel/whorehouse in a run down section of NYC circa 1973. Good for them!|

|Prices are low on food/beverages and for games, especially during summer specials (example:1 lane for 2hrs/$10). Staff can, at times, be VERY slow to respond to you. They're nice enough, but sometimes you can be standing at the counter for 3-5 minutes before you're even noticed (I've used the PA system mic. to summon service before). The lanes are average to poor. The first 20 some lanes have the older (original?) pin setting/ball return equipment and they frequently get hung up. When it takes a few minutes just to notify a staff member of this and then another few minutes for a staff member to walk from say the other end of the building all the way to the back to fix the problem only to have the same thing happen over and over, all the while the clock is running on your purchased time, the specials they run lose alot of their value and you start to feel like you're wasting your valuable recreation time. Cheap bowling/food/beer, but don't expect any more than what you're paying for.|

|Eastern Bowling Lanes is the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights. I bowl in the Tuesday night league and it is well worth coming to and spending my time bowling. If I could tell you couple things to improve the place. Maybe play music that is requested on Friday nights. Maybe new background by the pins. I've seen that you got new bowling balls and maybe you should light up the pins with colorful lights. That would attract people to come to Eastern more. But other than that Eastern is the place to be.|
