Actually MCBAL The Qubica BES auyomatic scoring system is simply a tenpin automatic scoring system that has has a few minor factory modifications made to it to handle candlepin bowling with the 3 balls per frame vs. 2 balls in tenpin and the addition of a 10 box where all 10 pins are felled with 3 balls. If you notice the grapics as well as the spare finder showing the remaining pins standing after each shot as well as the strike and spare grapics are all of tenpins. The only know candlepin computerized scoring system that is known to have candlepin grapics and pretty neat ones is the semi-automatic Compu-score system. I must admit seeing a lot of these automatic systems modified for candlepin bowling the Qubica system is probably the best out there. Another interesting fact about Cape Ann lanes is that it is only one of two candlepin centers left in exsistance that has the new Qubica and now Qubica/AMF masking units and what is neat about them is the picture scenes are not space consuming panels of old but just scenes held to the unit by velcro tape and when not in use a 20 lane center could store extra scenes rolled up in a box not much bigger than a large roll of wallpaper box. The only other center that has these masking units and has two entirely different looks for each floor of the center is the newly remodeled and only state of the art candlepin center in western Massachusetts and largest center out there as well the 22 lane Agawam Bowl in Agawam, MA located about 2 miles from Six Flags New England...

Whenever I'm in the Gloucester area I love bowling here! They are a great modern bowling center, they have pizza and beer, and I love the glow in the dark bowling!

They just installed the new BES Qubica scoring system. The first of its kind on Candle Pin bowling.
