Come Sunday for league practice along with Others. Lately Saturday nites have been so busy the lanes are beat to hell for Sunday practice.(dry no oil)if you want to keep the Sunday people the lanes should be bowlable.oiled before Sunday opening.to simulate league conditions for practice..it would also keep people from leaving.

I was veri dissapointed this weekend. I am a regular here and have had numerous parties at this location and had never had an issue. This past saturday we got 2 lanes for 2 hours and spent at least half the time on lane 16 dealing with the lane getting stuck and having us bowl on the second turn as opposed to the first and constantly having to reset, etc. When we spoke to the people at the front desk who dealt with us all night due to the issues they stated we would get some extra time at the end. When our 2 hrs were up we asked about the extra time and we were told they couldnt honor that because they would have to charge us for extra games. Not only did we spend tons of money on food and drinks but bowling is expensive and for them not to honor something when it was clearly an issue it was very disappointing. We will prob not come back eventhough I have been loyal to this place for years. =(

Has to be one of the worst bowling allies in the state. Staff at the counter is nice but doesn't watch open bowlers. Had people walking down the lanes. Equipment is old and beaten. Snack bar isn't bad. Under new management from what i heard. Prices not bad, but doesn't offer refills on drinks. Pro shop is great, Joanne does a great job. As for the bar... Over priced drinks. Poor service. Bartender never at the bar. Needs to be updated all around. Drink special offers only posted outside.

Tony Montana, ur RIGHT ON THE MONEY!!!! Dude, don't get me started about how much Hy-way "pothole" bowl desperately NEEDS to get demolished yesterday!!!!!!! (It has invisible signs all over it's back saying "kick me") Not to mention it had a dead tree fall its back roof, which to this day they REFUSE to clean up. But North Arlington Bowl is a beautiful alternative to all that drama! Great lanes and equipment, synthetic of course, good scoring pattern, and the service was awesome. I bowled today Weds at opening time (noon) . the older lady (Rose??) was very very kind and accomodating, i can't thank her enough. Give her a blue ribbon!! This house, like Garden palace, another nearby Nationwide-owned house, is well kept and unmatched friendly staff!! keep up the good work!!!

Back aprox 1958 the top ten bowlers in the country bowled. Match games including Don Carter and Dick Weber. That was when me and myself bowled there.I bowled until 1979 and my husband bowled later.

There are new owners of the snack bar and the food is great. the place is very clean and the service is good. As far as Lola's comment about NJ,well, only she is entitled to her own opinion and she don't like NJ don't come here.

I think that this bowling alley is fun, has good food, and is cheap but not that cheap. I recommend for people to go to this bowling alley. They also have great, kind workers.

I grew up in Kearny and used to bowl there as a kid back in the 60's and continued on until the early 90's before I moved out of the area. The snack bar used to be run by a large guy named Jay. The pro shop was run by an older guy (I forget his name - Bill Pachonne maybe) but he had a son Rocky who also used to bowl there. The owner was Tom Gingerelli and his son or nephew Mike used to bowl there as well. As I recall they didn't have any scratch leagues there at the time so a lot of the better bowlers ended up going to Wallington Lanes for the bigger purse scratch leagues. The bar was always full of both bowlers & non-bowlers just hanging out for a drink. I'm sure the place has changed a LOT since the last time I was there. I wonder if I ever went back to visit the Bowl-O-Drome would I see ANY familar faces ??

It's my home lane and I love bowling here, I get most of my best games here and my worst up in northern bergan county.

Comment Date: 8/13/2010 Name: Lola
I think the food at the snack bar is not as good as it was before. Granted it's crappy fried food, but at least there was fried zucchini and the fries were good and plentiful. Overall, it's just a bowling alley. Nothing special. Not particularly clean. And it's in NJ so why expect anyone to be nice? LOL.

Bowling Center was all right but as far as are overall experience to say the least it was horrible we had a party of four and we tried to order food and we waited by a small window for at least 15 min before a person asked us what we wanted it took another 25 min to get pizza ands fries the food was delivered cold and when I walked around to the inside I discovered two people embracing and the place was just filthy itís a shame the center is a nice cozy place to have a great time in but the food s*cks and the service is worse

Comment Date: 11/16/2009 Name: Marcus
This was a verry bad experience...we booked a party...we sentt back all the pizzas and the women working the counter had a crying baby on her arm and our chicken was served raw.....dont waste your money on this place

The Place is a complete slum, The Snack Bar is a zoo, Kids behind the counter by the hot grill, My Familt saw empoyees making out in the back kitchen, then someone informed us it was the owner and a kid, the lady would touch her hair and face with no gloves and touch the food, it is a heath hazzard, and the management should be ashamed

My son and a family friend were bowling there for practice before joing a league for the first time. The machine on lane 25 gouged my son's ball, ruining it and they refuse to pay! Can you imagine that-rip off a sixteen year old because their machines are old and crummy. It also gouged our friends ball with a slice in the outer edge of the ball. They refuse to make good on the balls because they are over 8 pounds. I am going to sue them in small claims court because they refuse to return my phone calls and the manager is never there-SCUMBAGS!

This place is horrible. They do not know how to treat customers. I was there with a group of friends, so we had two lanes. The lady at the counter messed up on our tickets and our game got cut short. Then before we can figure out that games were put on the other game instead of on our lane, the woman gave away our lane to other people. Then they offered to put us on another lane and play out the remainder of our 8 frames. We would be cut off after frame 8, and would have to pay more to finish the last frames, and would have to do it on the other side of the building away from the rest of our friends. wtf. The woman behing the counter was extremely rude to us. I only live two blocks away from this place and have been going there my whole life. I would NEVER go back to this place ever again.

JoAnne in the pro shop is the best. All of my honor score has been with equipment she has drilled.

Bowl O Drom has never been the same since Craig left there! Someone needs to learn something about management! The place is a dump, not to mention you have to walk up a steps after throwing your first ball. What a dumb remodeling that was.

I bowl here all the time, great service, fun, extremely cheap compared to places like Chelsea Piers! The Pro Shop is amazing, Joanne is was a pro bowler, whom now is in the PBA hall of fame, she gives great advice and is a one of the best ball drillers I know of. The only problem is the lanes sometimes will damage your ball, which happened to me twice in the 500+ times ive bowled there. Best alley i know of.

Only good thing is a great pro shop. The best in the state pro shop increased my avg by 12 pins in one visit with her. Snack Bar need work. Lanes 1 through 10 tend to be a little dry. Where's the POOL that is listed. Bowling and Swiming waht a combo!!!!

Just an addition to a comment posted about North Arlingtonís Bowl O Drone I believe this is the only Center in NJ recognized by the PBA and thatís because I think when Webbers in town meaning Atlantic City this is his house of choice or he has his equipment serviced by the pro shop im not sure, I know I love the place, Clean cheap decent food great staff a bowlers Mecca not much more to say other I bought my sons first ball from there pro shop the woman was so nice and relaxed helped my son showed him how to hold the ball very very nice lady . I know a lot of pros bowl there itís a great place to keep a low profile great place to scoop up some autographs. And it has been in trade papers I have been bowling for twenty years and wish I found this place sooner. Oh YA I remember now it was back in 05 the woman Joanna was mentioned by ebonite for her drilling and she got some award I think nice girl. Go by and say hello to franny and be sure to see that pro shop

EZ shot here! I average 225 with a red Turbo. You just gotta really swing it like I do. You can score big.

Good call on the snack bar Phil! Had me an Egg Cream there just last week. Threw my first 600 series after that. The gang at Lodi should send someone over there to break a $20 bill. They never seem to have change.

This is one of the best bowling centers in NJ. The place is clean, well maintained and the snack bar is very good.
