I think the prices are great only 3.95 per game where I live its 7.10 a game plus 5.04 for shoes!

I've been going to lakewood saturdays and sunday for the family special, the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, and there is a nice variety of food in the snack shack. during the winter months my girlfriend and i enjoy bringing a large group of our friends there.

I've been to Lakewood Lanes multiple lanes and I think it's great. The staff is really nice and I always have a good time. A little older feel to it, but nice. Definitely recommend!

Enjoy bowling on the re-painted pins that you guys were told are "new". When it chips off..they will look bad!

please add oil even rookies can bowl good on these lanes

Comment Date: 2/16/2008 Name: Tin Man
I think the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz had more oil than these lanes. For $4 a game you'd think they could afford a gallon of oil.

Probably the best bowling alley i have ever been to. every week that i go somthing is added to the experience. there are 7 12 foot telivision screens over the lanes, and let me tell you I've been to alot of bowling alleys and this one is by far my favorite.

i love the lanes, and their galexy bowling is the best i have ever seen. The staff is friendly and the place is clean what else could you ask for.

The snack bar has greatly improved since Lisa took over. She keeps the place clean and aims to please the patrons. She makes a good club sandwich. As for the lanes, aliitle oil, working pinsetters & ball returns, getting the bugs out of the automatic score system would make bowling more enjoyable. I don't bowl in the summer because its just to hot in there. Just an overall cleaning of the place would improve it.

HARTFORD - The former owner of a Bristol bowling alley was sentenced Thursday in Federal Court to serve six months in prison and pay a $5,000 fine for federal income tax evasion and conspiring to defraud the IRS. Charles W. Lanza, 52, of Wolcott admitted on Oct. 3, 2005 that he underpaid his federal taxes by $806,087, having failed to report more than $2.3 million of income between 1998 and 2002, according to court documents. In addition to the former Bristol Ten Pin, Lanza also owned Lakewood Lanes in Waterbury and T-Bowl in Wallingford. The Bristol location changed ownership last year. Though Lanza underpaid by a little more than $800,000, Lanza owed more than double that amount to the IRS, with a civil tax liability estimated to be about $1.6 million. Lanza also said he used his corporate credit cards for personal expenditures, which he then deducted on his tax returns. At the time of his guilty plea, Lanza had paid $750,000 in partial satisfaction as well as agreeing to allow $135,448.45 the IRS seized from his home, businesses and safe deposit boxes be applied to his total liability.

Can we please get some oil on the lanes!! These lanes will make the worst bowler look like a champion. minimal air conditioning in the summer makes you sweat like a pig. The owner needs to stop being a crook and put some money into the place.

I met my bf there and we've been goin out ever since { for 4 years!!]

Bar is closed down again cuz the owner is so cheap that he will serve to underage people.

I have been going there on and off for 20 years. In those years some improvements have been made but then totally let go. The overall quality of the place has gone down considerably. The organization for leagues has become quite unusual. You never know what you'll get. When you walk into the place you immediatly think "old" even with the newer equipment. I really like bowling but this place has started to change that.

If the owner wasn't skimming the profit's off-the-top, maybe he could've spent some money on new pin-setters. They're awefull. During league bowling the lane conditions are pretty good. If you go there on a weekend, don't expect to find any oil on the lanes. The bar prices are pretty good (and there's usually a hot girl behind the bar). Food isn't the best but hey, it's not a restauarant; it's a bowling alley. Pro-shop is pretty useless. Very limited selection, old drilling equipment, guy's not very knowledgeable; and would it kill them to cary rosin bags!

I too have been bowling here for the past 2 decades, but within the last 12 years or so, the place has really taken a turn for the worse. Inconsistent shot, machines breaking down a lot, and this is week after week, nothing is being dealt with. Sad to say, this is my last league year here, cause myself and many other people have had it. On to somewhere else.

Isn't the owner in jail?

I dont live right next to the Lanes but I go there as much as I can. It's a great atmosphere. There are plenty of lanes to bowl on. The balls that they allow you to use are a little bit worn out but other than that the place is great. The food could be a little better. Overall, I love the place.

My child is part of the youth teams, and I just wanted to comment on the coaches.....AWESOME, these people are great, they work with any bowler who has trouble, they have smiles on their faces all of the time!! They are truly an asset to the lanes!

I have been bowling for several years at Lakewood Lanes, and I enjoy the 'Bowl your Head Off' unlimited bowling for $8 - $10 for 2 hours, as I bowl 23 - 15 games in that period. In late October, I went in on a Sunday, and was told that now there needed to be 2 or more bowlers for the advertised special price, but I could pay double since I was the only bowler. This is clear misrepresentation, as the billboard outside and inside the building don't indicate a minimum. I bowl 3 times a week, and when you look at an annual basis, this comes to well over $1000 spent. My money just went elsewhere!

You need more oil on the lanes but other than that it's a good lane.
