Great fundraiser in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation yesterday and congratulations to the manager, Danielle, for raising over $4,000 in memory of her brother. We all had a GREAT time and the bowling and the General Manager were a blast. Can't wait for next year!

Fair enough Dave. Everyone has a bad day. Maybe the timing was bad and unfortunately you were at the recieving end. All it takes is one bad experience to put a bad taste in ones mouth. I hope your future experiences are better. :-)

Well Melissa, I understand your opinion. Just to clear one thing up I have never worked in any bowling center. My last comment was based on things that I was noticing throughout a long period of time, not something that just happened overnight. It's nice that you seem to be getting well-treated there, believe me, if I was getting the service that you seem to be getting, I would not be complaining. If you look at my comment on 9/17, I did not always have a negative opinion on this place. I used to get great service, now when I went there I needed help because of a machine malfunction. and It took them about 15 minutes to even get to the lane when There was only me and maybe 4 other lanes running. Before the summer of '06 when they took out their old machines (and they had different mechanics) my brother and I were there on a sunday night and again, a machine malfunction, only this time, almost every lane was being used. So we told them we had a problem and the mechanic went to the machine room right away, and not even 5 minutes later, we were good to go. You might be getting great service, but I was not, which is why I said what I did.

Wow Dave, you must be young and an ex-employee because for a bowling alley that you claim s*cks, they dumped a ton of money into it and it is beautiful. It is always packed and everyone is always having a good time. I love the service. I can just stay at my lane and bowl while they wait on me hand and foot. I dont have to keep going to the snackbar every 5 minutes to check on my food. We always get treated like royalty and always get free game passes to return with. That is smart business and dont need negative people like you there anyway. They are and will do fine without you. You are spiting yourself not them. I recommend this place to happy people wanting to have good positive fun.

(This is the same Dave that commented on 9/17 and 4/17) This place has just gotten worse, I recently went there with my brother. We wanted to get there one day before a certain time before the started all the dance lighting, which as a result had higher prices. so we get there 45 minutes before the scheduled time for that to happen.... and they had already started it before they had told me over the phone when it was supposed to start. Sounds like a great way to steal money if you ask me. And this waitressing service.. PLEASE.. I don't need that nonsense every time I come here! When I come to a bowling center... I just want to bowl! Some of them seem very inconsiderate as well. This center seems to be turning into another center in the area (I am not going to post the name because I do not think it is allowed) and it is completely changed in a bad way from how I thought this center once was. And leagues.. I was in a league for the last 2 summers and I loved it. Then this summer came around and I declined to participate in any because of how the quality of this place is. I have not bowled here once this summer and I don't regret it; I am saving a lot of money. The best thing that could happen to this center is 1. Someone buys it from AMF, and 2. It becomes an independently owned center. I have been to 4 (maybe more, I don't know) centers like this and all for them are 100X better than an AMF center in just about Everything! And unfortunately, The chances of this happening are slim to none. So until this place gets a SERIOUS overhaul, I am just about done bowling here. That is all.

THIS PLACE S*CKS. The managers are rude and the prices are way too expensive! The only good thing is the party hostesses.

Comment Date: 3/25/2008 Name: Melissa
WOW... It sounds like a lot of bitter ex-employees are commenting. First of all, if you want quiet, then don't go to an entertainment center, sit in the cemetery or something. I think the music is great it always gets me and my friends dancing and having fun. Second of all, the service is feee-nominal!!!! I never had to leave my ally once. From the minute I walked in, they helped us find balls and offered to help us put up our names. Then this cute little waitress came over smiling (I think her name was Debbie)she took our order and took care of us all night. We didn't want to leave. The food was Great and quick by the way. Even the manager came over to see if we were ok or needed anything. She was wonderful and friendly too. Our alley never broke down once and the new scoring machines had awesome graphics. They gave us free passes to use the next time we come. We will definitely go back. We were treated like royalty. The best bowling alley I ever went to. A great experience.

I think this place is too expensive and radical with their bowling patterns. Their oil machine is 15 years old and they cant keep the same pattern down for leauge bowlers. They keep changing everything. I can go from shooting a 700 to a 500 in 2 days... its insane. Its a great place to bring the kids though, excellent enviornment, but its a damn shame for bowlers who just want to do what the place was built for... bowling. Seems now that people are too concerned about food. The staff is excellent, they always try to help and are attentive. I did notice one staff member in particular, Tony, he is hard working and dedicated, he had a conversation with me, a detailed one on how the place has changed since he started there, back in May of 06. He is mature and sophisticated, and only 17 years old... My first impression after talking with him was that he was 25, despite his looks but if they keep hiring staff members like him then that center is sure to go places.

I like bowling here, as long as I don't have to hear the manager's rude announcements, or ask any questions. She is disrespectful and unfriendly to the bowlers.

Some of us actually want to...oh I dunno...bowl without too much distraction. That's becoming tougher to find on Long Island. Ever since about seven years ago, the trend seems to have been to play pathetically bad music...not on cheep ceiling speakers, but, in this case, on these big near field speakers made by EAW. They sound good, but I don't want to hear them when I'm trying to listen to the direction of the racks, aim my shot, and bowl a good game as a blind guy. Ironically, my first experience of this was at a bowl-athon sponsored by a Braille book company. And, to be honest, I've seen better in the lanes department, much better. Overall, just know what to expect here, and if you're like my father and can zone it out, fine. If you're like me, avoid this place, and you can forget the new 300 centers opening up (it's worse over there.)

My family and I have seen this bowling alley go from a dump to clean and invitng. I actually bowl on wednesdays and now like attending. I don't have to wait fifty years for my ball to return. The new machines seem faster. The lanes have become more consistent. 4 years ago you would guess if you were getting oil or not. The staff is better than they use to be and I now bring my family to bowl as well. Just wish they would serve healthier food. They have good food but some of us have to eat healthier. Bowling there for 20 years and they seem to be going in the right direction, finally.

Overall I think this is a pretty good center. The lanes are consistent and the new scoring system is fine. However, they do seem to play music way too loud and way too often. It is a big enough house that they could have half with strobe lights and music and half without (for those of us who want to merely bowl).

This place has changed a lot since i commented on 9/17. People there now never seem to know what is going on and a lot of times don't help much. They dont even play decent music anymore, all they do is repeat the freaking birthday music again and again. With the old machines they had, for 16 years i had about 5 problems with them ever when i bowled there. With these AMF machines i have had about double the problems and they havent even been in there for a year yet! I have had several ball return problems and several "sweep downs". This place is not what it was when i first started bowling here, it seems that all the good things went away when their old Brunswick "A" machines were taken out.

The service here was crazy. I wanted a coke but she gave me beer. I asked if I could have my money back but she said no, so I asked for the manager. She said get out of here. I hope she is looking for another job, because she needs to be fired.

Comment Date: 9/17/2006 Name: Dave
I always look forward when i go to this place. It is by far a great place to go to when in the mood to bowl. The New Scoring is totally awesome. The Place does need brighter lighting and I have to say that their old machines did work better for me than the new ones. But overall It is a great center.

The price for a game of bowling is horrendous! The Neon lights and music videos should be kept on, but the prices need to be lowered. They are overcharging their customers way too much by overpricing a game as well as shoes!! Changes need to be made in that alley!!
